I recently decided I needed more flags, so I went Minairons, naturally. However since Brexit the postal charges have rocketed. The effect was to make a £5 order cost £12.
So I have various solutions.
1. Go without
2. Stomach the cost
3. Does anyone have any surplus flags that they would sell me?
4. Does anyone know where I can buy flags in the UK?
5. Does anyone want flags from Minairons so that we could share the postal charges?
Answers on a postcard please.
John
The Minairons flags are really good and worth the money I am sure.
I have sheets of flags that I have made up and can print off for you John. They are paper and would need to be folded and glued.
I may have just what you need.
Which army are you doing?
I can print them off and post them to you.
This applies to other members here too.
martin :)
save image from a google search and self print. That's where most of my flags come from. Free apart from the cost of paper and ink.

Try https://www.flagsofwar.com/
They are out of scale but nothing that a scan and resize can't cope with. Also, in line with most other commercial products forget the "Sample", "Company Name" or whatever across the product shown there is enough detail available to let you create your own, in paint, from the requisite parts. I don't say this to damage sales as much as preserve wallets!

Maybe oversized but cheap!
Pendraken have 10mm.
The Square does 15mm SCW of various types but doesn't have a website

John,
Were there any Minairons flags in particular that you were looking for?
Simon
Simon I was going to get the Moroccan flags, the women's and Falangists.
John
Ah - sorry, John, I don't have any of those.
Simon
Hello John
I can supply those if you like, although you might prefer the other suggestions?
I don't know what the women's flag is, say more.
If you want me to go ahead just e mail me.
Otherwise the other suggestions would probably be great too.
martin :)
Hi John,
I understand your unwillingness to place an order whose postage amounts so much if compared to the items wanted themselves.
However, I would still insist for you to explore one of those two options:
1) Ordering from me something --anything-- else making your P&P costs more reasonable. Some armour or softskin vehicle would be great, for instance.
2) Asking McKeeman Models in Scotland to provide you with what you need, even in the case those items aren't in their current listings. Maybe it's worth the try.
Best regards,
Lluís
Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions.
John
With the recent news from Minairons, I hope their flags and all of the other lovely offerings in 15mm for SCW don't dissappear.
Tony
What "recent news"?
martin :)
It seems (having just checked the website) as though Minairons is closing for good at the end of this year.
It appears that Lluis couldn't find anyone to take it over, and that ongoing health problems will therefore mean things have to close.
Which is all very sad.
Simon
That is sad news.
Maybe Lluis will drop in for a chat here?
martin :)
Hi all,
True, I've got Minairons miniatures website temporarily shut down, while my wife is taking both chemotherapy and radiotherapy at a Hospital in Barcelona. Once those treatments are over (by mid August, let's say), then I'm going to briefly reopen website for a final clearance until end of stocks. My timeline is to have it all cleared before New Year.
This isn't the retirement way I had envisioned so far. I hoped to handle over Minairons management to a couple of friends who were willing to do so, but a disagreement with one of my sculptors has prevented the operation to complete. Unwilling to get involved in potential legal issues, I've just given up, so Minairons miniatures is going to die here.
It was an exciting adventure while it lasted. I'm happy with it --besides of quite proud, too.
Lluís
That is so sad Lluis.
Life does throw muck at people.
You have all of our good wishes.
Thanks for posting your story here.
martin :)
So sorry to see bow out this way Lluis
Will you still be taking painting commissions on?
At least I have my Ships to remember you and Minairons by
Stewart
This is very sad like many of us your company has provided us with toys that we wouldn't got ? I must get the SCW A/cars you do.
Thank you for you services!
