Title: Notes from sunny Spain
Post by: martin goddard on February 22, 2024, 10:05:32 PM
As per usual I think we should have some notes about the rules we are playing.
Do feel free to add bits on.

1.Foot ranges are quite short. 3 squares for rifles and LMG. MMG have a range of 5, so they could stand off from foot base shooting.  I think that players should always seek to have some MMGs as they are great in defence. They as have a factor against tanks.
2. Field guns are good value and effective against foot. They do die like foot bases though, so need a couple of chums in their square to take the hits.
The extra asset 6 points is very useful if your asset values are initially small. A lot of luck to get them where you want though.
3.The game is quite short so crack on with the assaults. Unless there are overwhelming numbers of assaulters it is best to wait for short assault status.
4.Air attack and HE are deadly against grouped platoons in the open.
5. Light ACs can cause havoc amongst foot bases as they have a factor of 3 in shooting.
6.Having a special scenery piece when defending might be worth the effort.
7. Do look at the special rules for each army. eg Assault guards an assault for 2AP in a single game turn.
8. Do get the extra 5 foot bases to make the units a bit tougher by being larger.
