This is good progress. Thank you.

martin :)
Thanks Martin.
To clarify, it must be the Russians who are tentative, as the Germans are raring to go ;D
Simon
The pressure is building up on the Russians.
I have already criticised their welding.
Maybe I can ramp that up by saying their muzzle brakes look bad too?
martin :)
You make some good points, Martin.
Their armour is looking a tad rusty, I thought. Good job the Germans have made liberal application of red lead primer. I may give my vehicles a wax and polish too?
Simon
Ben will arrive suitably 'tooled up'.
D&B
I should be able to do a table.
John
This is good.
Thanks John for doing a table.
I suggest that anyone doing a table Does not need to bring 30 pieces of scenery(the maximum choice).
If you bring 20 that should give the players enough choice.
I will bring a bunch of spares too if you only have 12.
The games will be as close to normal as possible.
That means players get to choose their scenery (from say 20?).
Players will also be able to choose their own company composition too.
martin :)
Are we still going for different forces morning and afternoon? Or might it be better to keep the same company to learn from them in the second game, albeit against a different opponent?
Simon
Berlin day structure
Although "Berlin" is the heading the day does not pretend to represent the various 5 complete armies involved in the battle. That would be a bit silly. The day represents actions by companies in the last full 2 weeks of the battle for Berlin.
1. Normal PBI rules using 2020 playtest version. I will try not to change it too close to the day.
2. Normal scenery rules.
3. Normal company composition rules. Do use points values from PBI 2020 playtest version.
4. Average or veteran companies 4 or 5 units.
5. Raw companies 4,5,6 units.
6. If you have an AC unit then you cannot have a tank unit too.
Day specific rules
1. Russians are awarded a 7 point piggy chase bonus. Other modifiers are still applicable. Germans are allowed to attack.
2. Players will stay in character for both games and cannot change their company.
3. If Germans defending they can have +5 on dug in asset if they use that asset.
4. There will be a lucky dip of "trivial treats"(as in the CK day) that players can swap or gift between each other.
5. Each side will anoint one of their number as C in C for all day.
6. The number of tables in action can be 3,4,5 or even 6 dependent on players attending.
7. Games will be 1 v 1 unless players prefer to team up.
8. Normal victory points.
9. Companies should be 1943 or 1944 or 1945.
10. For the "look" players can replace the attacker's here to there road with rail track. It is still a road but looks like a railway.
11. Maybe players can provide some interesting partial pieces? (rolling stock on railway, destroyed vehicles/carts, crashed aircraft, statues, sign clusters.
12. Victory points will go into an overall assessment of win/lose at days end.
How does that sound?
martin :)
You must be thinking of the same things as myself Simon.
I have posted the initial ideas for discussion.
martin :)
This all sounds very good, Martin.
Other than the second sentence in your first bullet point #1, which we all know you're not going to be able to deliver on ;)
Simon
Sounds goood Martin
I can provide a complete table but building may look a bit Russian or French
I will bring a Raw Volkstrum company and a Russian company
Stewart
I did try Simon, but the will is weak in this one.
Stewart, either is great. Thanks for providing a table.
martin :)
I hadn't better say anything, but I'd love to come to this.
I'm going to set my travel up over Christmas and play a bit. I'm working Christmas Day which is a real downer on the festivities, but by having a game to play through will cheer me up amd get me up to speed with playtesting
Buildings, Stewart asked me earlier today about where I got them from ?
The buildings were acquired after months of buying off EBay selecting what I wanted.
They come from many different sources ? Unfortunately too many to put here for now ?
They are German and Polish manufacturers mainly. 1/72- 1/76- and 1/87th scales mainly.
But there is another solution if anyone wants to come over to mine before the day.
As I do have quite a few buildings for such an event ? I am happy to lend out a number of these buildings for this event, most of them are in good condition, they are second hand and all made up.
My problem is because of Xmas and New year my trade is 3 days behind and it takes up to 3 weeks to catch up these working days. The last working catch up day is 13th January.
I will leave it up to someone to organise?
Miles
That is generous Miles. A nice offer.
martin :)
I know how much I spent on buying these buildings back then, and how long it took me to get them ? So in a couple of weeks and over Xmas it would cost a fortune to buy them, possibly make them etc.
As I do have quite a collection of buildings for this period and area ? I ve got most types of normal town buildings, including corner ones as well. As well as some principal building types. It's not conclusive but reasonably extensive!
I am talking 3-4 80 - 120 litre boxes full.
Miles
Also found this on EBay?

All excellent Miles.
martin :)
That is a grand looking building to "set" a game!
Simon
Italeri have a nice selection of Berlin buildings in their big play sets.
They are 20mm but probably work well with 15mm?

martin :)
Hi Martin,
The Italeri Berlin plastic buildings are very large, I did have a couple of the kits but sold them. They would work well with 1/72 and some 28mm miniatures.
Best wishes,
Martin from Grimsby
