The top picture shows the US platoons forming a line of defence along table centre through the near woods up to the far woods. The Germans have deployed on the right ready for turn 1.

The bottom picture gives a nice view of the attractive scenery set up.
The Veteran Germans attacked. They were led by Mike with Stewart as 2nd command.
They had 3 platoons, 1 support mortar platoon and single panther tank.
the average US were led by Dennis with martin as 2nd in command.
The US held the central village and the two outlying objectives. This they did with two foot platoons on table.
The Germans attacked down a flank and in the centre. This brought their power against just one US platoon. a good plan.
The US flank held the Germans up for a while before being assaulted and put to flight.
The other two objectives were under US ownership until the Germans mounted assaults on them.
The central objective was only partial cover which made it hard to hold for the Is and also for the attacking Germans once they took it.
At the game end the central objective was still contested but the Germans held it.
The lone Panther took about 6 hits from Shermans, off table artillery and bazookas. It survived all of this, although it did become rattled.
A good game that featured a lot of closed cover as can be seen in the photos.
The Germans are coming from the right hand table edge.
The game ended with a good win for the attacking Germans.
martin :)
Well done Germans, and all involved in a nice-looking game.
