Title: Square Bashing 2024 - a hundred years on
Post by: Colonel Kilgore on October 01, 2023, 05:34:08 PM
I guess it's never too early to be thinking of next year's event!

Simon C has declared this to be a 1914 game, and I believe we're trying to hold it a little earlier in the year (ideally not in the school holidays, though please) in 2024.

A question on army points. The unit points are much more "lumpy" than in some other games e.g. you can easily find yourself 10 points short of the 620 point total with nothing to spend them on, or wanting to go just a very few points over to squeeze in that last unit.

For the purposes of force planning (I intend to paint up a new army for the event), are we going to stick to a rigid 620 points maximum, or allow a little leeway (e.g. if you go a few points over, you may have to risk losing half or a whole base - to be rolled for at the start of the game)?

Maybe there will be anew edition before then . If it is still in playtest I can get a pdf to all the players ?
That would be 12 years since the existing edition. Not many publishers who are still actively selling a set of rules can compete with the length of time between PP rule editions?

As it's only a "tidy up" maybe we could Get It Done as an American president keeps saying ! Lol.
As I am still in SB mode painting wise I am up for it ?
