Title: A Riposte rapid recovery random realisation roll (Arrrrrr!)
Post by: martin goddard on August 14, 2023, 04:47:29 PM
At the moment the musketeer is winning less than half of the games.
Most of the mechanisms are working fine.
There is a need to give the musketeer (a little bit) more lastability.

Here is an idea.

Musketeer gives up all of his  move D6.
Rolls that number of D6. Any score of 6 recovers a wound as per Hollywood.
He can do this whenever he scores a 3 or a  6.
The use of all sores would be simpler but allow too much recovery?
The 3 or 6 will limit the number of attempts.
No 3 or 6 can be rolled when there are no guards because the musketeer moves from event to event.

e.g There are guards on the table. Musketeer rolls a 3 for his turn. Decides he would like to recover. Rolls 3,6,6= 1 wound recovered.

That sounds like it's worth a try, Martin!

If the musketeer is losing too often simply increase his possible wounds from 3 to 4 or introduce d'Artagnan (the greatest swordsman in all of France and a musketeer wannabee) who has more wounds possible because every hit on him was lucky and doubtless wasn't as effective. d'Artagnan is also an exuse to use a civilian with sword/conversion figure.
