Title: New mould 9th July 2023
Post by: martin goddard on July 09, 2023, 08:10:41 PM
Dear all

Todays mould is now cooked.
3 musketeer figures. I have given them swords to help gamers but I have put a wire sword on mine.
Also Cossack  LMGs. That will probably end the cossack range.
These two packs should be out by the week's end.

A secret extra figure = mule for the forthcoming ACW wagons.
Wagons will be out in 2 weeks.

Gosh, you have had a busy weekend, Martin.

I'm particularly looking forward to seeing the musketeers, and subsequently to what people will do with them.

Be interested to know what sort of LMG is portrayed...

Hello Neil

It is the normal record player one (DP) .
3 LMG poses in the pack.
There are now enough packs to do a PBI  force or a Square bashing fo :)rce.

Ah the 'slide carousel' one - a bit too late for RCW (introduced 1928) but ideal for later...

I think the idea is that both the SMG- and LMG-armed figures in this range are for WW2 use, rather than WW1?

A (captured) Lewis gun would presumably be more appropriate for WW1, but strictly not necessary for Square Bashing.

Absolutely, I applaud the multi-use and sheer variety of poses.
I am just checking since the tech started to come in at the end of WW1. I noted that some Russian WW1 troops were equipped with Madsens and Chauchats.
I intend to use some Cossacks as Central Asian Turkmen - with a little imaginative paint work and by replacing the papakha with a fuller busby-like telpek in Milliput (unless Martin takes pity on me and sculpts some heads!).
In which case you could also potentially push back the use of much of this range to the Russian expansion of C Asia from the 1880s & early 1900s...
