The American Battlefield Trust is currently airing a series on YouTube about the campaign for the capture of Vicksburg. This is one of those occasions when there was very strong co-operation between the US Army and the US Navy to achieve this aim. I am finding this a very interesting and informative watch. The latest programme in the series covers the siege of Port Hudson.

Latest episode a tour of the USS Cairo (I had no idea Americans don't know how to pronounce Cairo). It is interesting to see a person next to a full size ACW ironclad.
How does one pronounce "Cairo" on the other side of the Pond, Andy?

On a similar note: When I was working in London my clothes marked me out as a square-mile local. I would often get tourists asking me the way to "London Bridge". Being a nice guy I'd give accurate directions. But I wonder how many actually wanted London Bridge? It's not that photogenic!
