Maybe the CWB day can have a Gettysburg theme?
No idea how that might be done, although we could hide some shoes and get Confederate players to find them. Maybe the Confederate players could hide together somewhere in the shop and the union players must find them? The Confederates might also wear blindfolds when choosing which table to play on? Possibly not allow the Confederates to have lunch either?
See. Themed.
martin :)
I would happily go with this theme.

Big Mike
Stewart
The Union forever, hurrah boys hurrah....
Richard
I'm game for some of that. Happy to be a Reb.
As it is an actual game does that mean we don't do the PIGGY CHASE?
Derek
Do you not like chasing piggies, Derek?
Simon
I believe Nigel is up for this one too.
martin :)
Yes please...Union if possible, but happy to play either.
Derek the "Piggy Chase" is what sets up the whole game !
Which Rebel table gets the Fence running across the table ?
Miles
I agree. Its only that Gettysburg is a union defending battle is all.
Derek
But this is only the theme not an actual representation of the battle.
It could simply be a recon meeting as the original battle started.
Maybe your battle/table was the one that started the whole battle ?
Who knows ?
So yes the Piggy Chase as per normal.I suggest.
Miles
Derek
Normal game
Set in 1863 for your army lists
Gettysburg- 3 day battle lots corps, divisions
Your game 3hours , 2 Divisions per side
So close your eyes imagine a small part of the big battle some time during the 3 days
I'm sure you will enjoy the day
Stewart
Who can attend and what army are you fielding?

Martin
Miles - Union
Big Mike
Richard - Union
Derek - Confederate
Sean - Union
Nigel - Confederate (Normally)
Anybody I have missed
Stewart
Also have both armies so can bring extra figures. I have Mr and Mrs Lincoln (very old Peter Pig models) and a band. They will be essential for period atmosphere..
As Derek says, Gettysburg was a defensive battle for 3 days. However, for our purposes, I think this will be more a chance to play CWB with a focus on the relevant armies as opposed to a refight. Refighting Gettysburg is an odd one really. If you're given a command on day 2 opposite Cemetary Ridge, technically you should just sit and watch what happens on youre flanks.
However I think if we did do a refight, it would be good to have 3 tables, in an 'L' shape to have the whole Union line from Culp's Hill to the Roundtops and to give the General Lee free reign to attack where he wishes. This would of course by 2nd July. 1st July is probably too small a fight for more than 2 tables, as is 3rd July.
There is a train of thought that Gettysburg was the price the South paid for having Robert Lee side with them at the beginning of the war, which I agree with.
Don't worry chaps, I was not expecting to re play Gettysburg.
We could get the rebels to have no shoes all day?
However 1863 might be a suggestion for the armies used???
I have a hat too.
martin :)
Agreed Martin
1863
600 points
Army list 3 Union, list 10 Confederate
Stewart
Perfect
Fortunately we can get out the same scenery stock as for the WA day.
