Title: Defenders in land raids
Post by: Forst22 on March 07, 2023, 07:44:22 AM
'recently started using the latest version of Pieces of Eight, and just wanted to check one anomaly to see if I had miss read something.

When setting up it says the defender gets d6 troops but gives an e number of 4.5 not the 3.5 a d6 normally generates. Also the scurvy bases are d6 +6 with an e number of  15? I make it 9.5, for 15 it would require 3 d6 +6.

Also it says defenders can have a maximum of 5 officers, but the stated start strength max is 6 troops and 12 scurvy = max of 4 officers? So where could the 5th one come from as events can only replace dead ones (if I Have read that right?)

Have I missed something?

Thanks

Forst22 - it's the ability to have a re-roll that changes the expected numbers.

And the Scurvy are 2D6 + 5 = maximum of 17 bases. 17 + 6 = 23 which when rounded up to 25 gives 5 officers.

Does that help?

Thanks, thought something didn't add up.

I have a pdf copy that says d6 +6 in both the book and the battle sheet, so suspected something was wrong.

So I need to change d6+6 to 2d6 +5 with the reroll!

That's why my defenders in my test game were wiped out with ease!

Hi Guys
The 28 in the rules is a misprint
Correct numbers are on the play sheet which is a copy of what is the rule book(just checked)
