Title: Original Bayonets and Ideology
Post by: Sean Clark on February 28, 2023, 12:53:26 AM
I've been looking on eBay and bring and buys for a copy of these for years. I've now found one on eBay, but have been outbid.

Just wondering if it's anyone on this group?

Hi Sean
Just had a look...it has a fair while to run yet. Would it be worth setting yourself an alarm on a phone/tablet or mark on the diary, and then put in your bid at the last minute? (I'm thinking that bids before the latter end of the listing just push up the price, rather than secure the purchase....which is great for the seller, of course). Always a lottery, ebay.

Not me. I don't collect old rulesets if I have got into the newer version, which I have with B & I. Perhaps if we all put in bid for you then you can pay top dollar for them? Seriously though it can be very frustrating. It also brings up the moral dilemma "do I bid and keep quiet hoping no one else spots the item, or do I tell the group as I know someone else will want it".

It's to add to my collection of every rule set produced by the RFCM team. Some people collect stamps...for me it's old rules. I have many sets of the old TTG rules too.

Hoka Hey and the original non gridded PBI still allude me  though I know Stewart picked up Hoka Hey last year.

I'm too much of an honest man to keep quiet about these things!

So I think the auction went upto £5.50, which I would have been happy to pay but I had forgotten to increase my bid.

As luck would have it I went to the Alumwell show and someone had a copy for sale for 50p! So I bought it along with half a dozen 1/300th SCW aeroplanes at 50p each 😁
