Title: Slingshot magazine
Post by: martin goddard on December 19, 2022, 01:05:20 PM
The latest edition of slingshot has arrived .
It is very good.
Obviously really only for those who are interested in ancient wars.

A good edition.

The slingshot "society"  (SOA) is planning to do a greek hoplite battle for its annual battle day.
This would be 2nd .  Mantinea.     25th March 2023.

The 362 battle  not the 418 battle (obviously ::) )

Anyone interested in doing this with CK???

I think that's the same day that Stewart has pencilled in for MexRev at Entoyment?

It is Simon but the schedule is flexible , we can play what we want as we are adults (I think) we just play with toys

I was thinking of asking the SOA to reschedule their event to avoid the clash, Stewart  ;)

There you go - we've started a movement.

How about having a vote on it on Twitter?  :D

The wise man should know the outcome of a vote before suggesting it.
Not knowing would be silly??

The SOA day would indeed be good, but I'm rather hoping to get to the Mex Rev day.

The Slingshot magazine is obviously for players of ancients games.
The magazine subscription also gives access to the discussion group, which is good.
Not sure what the annual price is, but I remember it as reasonable.
Someone will post it here I hope.

It's £27 annually .

One perk is you get discounts for quite a lot of figure manufacturers

macsen wledig (or Magnus Maximus) - I thought I detected an SOA affiliation in your first post  :D

It's great to have you on this Forum, but would be nice to have an English name (it can be a pseudonym - many of us are international criminal masterminds in our spare time away from gaming, so have to go under deep cover) to refer to you by?

Nice to meet you Dave. We will all have to be more polite about SOA henceforth  :D

We do have at least one Lance & Longbow committee member who frequents this Forum too - I do hope you will get on.

Great timing to be joining (and maybe a crossover for your respective societies?) as Martin launches his Carolingians on a grateful public!
