Title: Salute
Post by: pbeccas (Paul) on February 14, 2017, 05:12:13 AM
Hi all.  I am travelling from Australia to attend my first ever Salute. Just wondering if Peter Pig will be there selling stuff?
Cheers

Hope you have agood trip

PP will be there(all being well). We will have the full stand with Julie, Nigel and Mike.  The game will be Vietnam. We will not be packing up promptly because we were kept as the very last van to load up. salute park the traders in a  hall and the first in to the hall are the last out.  No point in getting organised early. So we can wargame until the show end at 4 or 5 whenever it is!

Paul for your Salute visit.
Make a list of the traders you wish to visit, mark against each the stall number and then arrange them in a logical order so thet you can go through the show and see your key items first.
Then wander through the rest and play Martins Vietnam game.
The place is so large and busy you will still go home and later on a show review see things that you missed.

Good luck, you should have an amazing day.

supportive footwear, and two pairs of socks. The Excel concrete floors can be punishing over time!

Thanks for the tips everyone.  Its going to be very exciting.  After 20 years of wargaming I will be able to see some of the great people I have purchased stuff from.  And on top of that, a visit to Bovington.  Once in a lifetime chance to hug a Tiger tank.

another tip.. arrival time.

There will be massive queues to get in. You may like that and get excited!

or, you can sit in the one of many coffee shops just outside and wait 30 minutes. You can then just breeze in. You miss 30 mins sure, but coffee and croissant on a comfy seat or standing in a snake fence queue.

Of course PP factory and workshop is only a half hour drive from Bovi.

Great for those must have models to return home with.

I can only trick the wife a few times before she realizes the trip is my wargaming tour of the UK.
