Warband Germans versus mounted Mongols.
Poor old germans got shot to bits and ran away.

What happened to the suicidal frontal charge, Martin - wouldn't the Mongols stand still long enough for them?

Stewart's mongols did  some spectacular shooting. Mike and I did some very poor saves.
The problem is that the shooting stopped the game developing into a fight.

I might consider dropping the  shoot D6  of 4,3,2  down to 3,2,1 . Still hitting on 5,6.


e.g
A close order bow unit shooting at unarmoured troops
With 4D6 = 4x 1/3 =1.3 hits.  After saves gives .7 kills.
With 3 D6 = 3x 1/3= 1 hit.  After save gives .5 kills.


A zone shooting with 2 close order bow would have achieved 1.4 kills.
The same  zone shooting with reduced  D6 would achieve 1 kill.

Would need some testing I think.

Sounds work a try. At present I feel the armies with lots of bows have a big advantage.

My Mongal pony's offered the Germans rides but they ran away to fast
