Title: A Dutch opponent?
Post by: Leman (Andy) on August 30, 2022, 11:10:14 AM
Well who would have thought it. It turns out that my son's new girlfriend is an avid game player and has an interest in castles. She knew I played Miniature wargames, but when she saw my latest table layout she asked if one day she could have a game. I knew her main interest was in boardgames. I am also waiting to back the new Kingmaker kickstarter, so I suggested that she night be more interested in using that as a campaign game, but fight any battles that occured as a Bloody Barons game. At the moment she is quite enthusiastic about it. I will see if she would like to have a go at the St Albans game before commiting to using table-top battles in conjunction with Kingmaker.

Sound good but you might want to let her try a standard game before starting the campaign. TO see if she likes it etc.

You mention something which I came across yesterday - the new Kingmaker edition. I am looking forward to seeing the price and more details on this. It's not a game I ever have played but I have heard a lot about it.

Well, she has already brought the Peaky Blinders boardgame round, which proved very entertaining and I actually won.  :D
