I hope Miles does not mind me starting a new string?
I would like to check the details of next Saturday. Your input needed here Miles.
1. 3 fighting tables? I can bring 1 (or 2 if that helps). It can either be Russian themed or Europe themed. Any preference?
2. Anyone need a spare army?
3. Are we assuming 8 players?
4. Is Entoyment all booked?
5. Any other events on that same day?
I am being cautious.
martin :)
Well, there are sporting clashes with:
- the Le Mans 24 hour race
- the Nottingham Tennis Open
- the Azerbaijan F1 Grand Prix
- polo at Hurlingham Park
- more tennis in Birmingham
But no Premiership football - so, game on, chaps?
Simon
Thought I might meet you and Dave at the Polo Simon?
None the less let us do some PBI.
martin :)
Actually I do believe England V Italy if I remember was Dave's and Ben's excuse.
Miles
I have booked 3 tables for now. One of us Could book a 4th if you think it's needed ? But not knowing what's on at Entoyment that day ?
A Russian themed table sounds good.
I will bring a Desert table.
At this time we have fighting North/Central and Southern Russia, some Pacific battles, Burma/Singapore and the Western Desert also Syria and Iraq I believe? (Anyone with a French Army ?)
So with the Western Desert in Mind I will bring 8th Army and hopefully 3 Grants/Lee tanks ?
Might have also done my Burma Lees/Grant tanks by then ?
Not sure how many as yet ? I was going to do a "Roll Call" at the weekend but as you have started this thread might as well start it now.
PBI pre October 1942. No Tiger tanks this time ! The Germans and PP does have and make other tanks !
Miles 8th Army (possibly use as 14th Army) with Desert Table.
martin. Russian table. 1942 Mid war Germans.
John Germans and Russians ? DAK ??
Mike ?
Chris ?
Richard?
Colin ?
Simon not sure on as he has a Lunch to go to ? Organised ?
"I did say you didn't have to bother it's only my 56th Bday that day ! KFC will do ? Lol"
Dave and Ben at Football ?

Passion Miles - not an excuse. An excuse is I wasn't well, or at a concert.
;D
D&B
Ha ha very funny Dave. But my Passion for (Heavy) Rock concerts is nearly as long as my Passion for this hobby. My first band I saw live was the Jam in the early 70's. Havin seen Mötörhead and Saxon nearly every year of there existence as Rock groups, yes that's 40 plus times for each and 30 plus for Status Quo; Hawkwind and Marillion close to these figures too if you don't count the times I went on tour as a roadie with Both bands ? Including Stonehenge festival.(heady days)
So you could say Music, live or not is a Passion for me. As well as a major expense these days too !
My (excuse) Passion for not be able to attend 13th August being in Derbyshire at Bloodstock festival, for several days which has set me back nearly £400 Ticket and Accommodation already that's not including food and drink.
But my Passion for music I try and balance with my Passion for Model making and Wargames, normally the sit well together with the odd time they clash.
That's my excuse and I am sticking to it !

Talking of Burma found this useful piece. A guide to army in the British army used in the Jungle.

Miles and All,
I can bring my DAK army with suitable tanks; US troops for Tunisia (green uniforms though), Germans for Russia.
I have a desert or Russian table set up if we need another but it sounds like we have 3 tables.
Mike
I think 14th army is 1943 onwards. Too late for the games day but I am OK to fight against them.
martin :)
I'll be there. I'll have German force ready and British in Battledress. Can bring scenery if needed.
Richard
I only put 14th Army in brackets as a bench mark. Knowing that they were in "Jungle green" where mine are in Khaki. ( I am just catching up with the Burma campaign at the moment so my knowledge is still learning on what happened when and where)
Mike Tunisia didn't happen until November.
As I "had" to put a physical date on 1942 which is October. El Alamein and Tunisia are in the mix when we meet in October. This was done so we would cover events that had happened earlier in the year and keeps the technology down, Bazookas, Panzerfausts, Tiger tanks and things of this nature are all out until later in the year.
Trying to keep it relatively simple so we can all get to grips with the rules, that's my thinking. Also we missed out on 1941 last year so this sort of makes up for this too ?
Miles
Miles,
Ok got it.
I am repainting all my desert terrain to Iraqi Sand colour, so I will bring a DAK army to go with it.
Who has 8th Army?
Mike
Well obviously I do, hopefully got my Grants painted by then too. As these became operational May/June 1942.
The M4 Sherman's and Churchill's I am leaving out until later this year, along with Daimler A/cars.
Miles
Game on then Miles!
Roll Call for Saturday.
Miles.
Martin.
John.
Mike.
Richard ?
Chris ?
Anybody seeing Chris and/or Richard this week ? To remind them ?
I know Colin and Simon can't come.
Miles
Eric will be there. He is new to PBI .
Might better for him to pair up with someone who knows what they are doing, or me.
martin :)
I've got my Russians ready.
John
I've got Germans to bring. See you Saturday.
Richard
