Title: Chalke Valley History Festival 2022
Post by: Big Mike on May 02, 2022, 11:08:08 AM
I expect to attend on one of the days this years. It is a good day out with talks from authors, historians and TV presenters.  Take a look at their site and the post from me for the 2021 show.
It runs from 20th - 26th June and is located near Salisbury. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for the reminder, Mike.

I received an email from them today saying that ticket sales had been delayed for logistical reasons. Hopefully they will be sorted soon.

I attended the Chalke Valley History Festival on Saturday. it clashed with Tankfest of course and James Holland had to be in both places on the same day.Far less WW2 hardware this year as a result but a highlight was the 25pdr troop firing display.

Sir Antony Beevor's talk on the Russian Civil War was well worth the going for. I now have his new book on the topic to read.
Despite chemo he answered a range of questions from the audience in his usual well informed and incisive style. Long may he
continue.

Thanks for this report, Mike.

There looked to be a range of great talks from some very well-known folk this year. Maybe I'll make it next year...
