Such is the funny name adopted by TooFatLardies for the SCW supplement of their Bag the Hun air combat ruleset.
I've recently agreed with my gaming mates to hold a trial game on this, so I've spent several days rescuing and restoring my long ago forgotten aircraft collection.
All them are 1:144 scale (still suitable for a decent game or so I think, despite many do seemingly prefer smaller sized aircraft such as 1:200 or even 1:300).
My first just completed aircraft team is this section of Heinkel He-51, kindly supplied by Nazi Germany to Franco's air force...

Models are made out of metal by Reviresco. Decals are home made. I can't remember where pilots came from (perhaps Reviresco itself?)
A few pictures else are shown at my hobby blog: https://soldadets.blogspot.com/2022/01/seccio-de-heinkel-he-51.html (https://soldadets.blogspot.com/2022/01/seccio-de-heinkel-he-51.html)
More models and a first YouTube AAR video soon! (or so I hope).
Regards,
Lluís
Those air planes look great Lluis
martin :)
Lovely stuff!

Luis,
I will be interested to hear how the Bag The Hun rules play out. I have 1/600 WW2 aircraft that need to fly again.
Mike
Lovely looking models !
Glad you like them! :)
As said, we're going to give a try to Bag the Hun soon - next Monday, to be precise. I've already managed to rescue nearly all of the aircraft I built over a decade ago (about two dozens completed and four others still to be finished), so we'll have plenty of stuff at disposal :)
Let me show you those going to face the nationalist Heinkels above next Monday - a section of Nieuport-Delage NiD-52 (or Hispano-Delage 52 if locally built), that I chose to keep in their early war livery: all aluminium with pre-war markings and/or red bands along fuselage and wings.

As always, full report in my personal blog: https://soldadets.blogspot.com/2022/01/seccio-de-nieuport-delage-nid-52.html (https://soldadets.blogspot.com/2022/01/seccio-de-nieuport-delage-nid-52.html)
More coming soon!

Just as previously announced, last Monday we met for giving a first try to TooFatLardies' Bag the Hun air combat ruleset --specifically, their Ahh Condor SCW supplement.
It was a lot of fun despite our obvious inexperience. As a pretty short AAR, we threw a Republican NiD-52 section and a Nationalist He-51 section against each other, to see what would happen – and if we were capable of sorting it out.
Each section was composed by a veteran, a trainee and a sprog as pilots. In both cases, the veteran one performed as section leader too.
We used some home made aircaft data sheets and initiative cards (these latter, heavily customized), as well as a couple of toy seaplanes in the role of bogeys (=unspotted planes). Where those seaplanes from Kinder eggs I guess? I can't remember.

Soon both sections spotted to each other and started approaching.

Heinkels soon took advantage of their higher MAN to outmanoeuvre the Nieuports and take on the tail of one of them – but their fire resulted ineffective and had to disengage due to their also higher SPD.

On their side, the Republican formation got disrupted while trying to evade Heinkels attack, but then they cleverly took advantage of such dispersion to counterattack the enemy by the rear and left side altogether (after some slow manoeuvrings I'm better going to spare you).

However, their fire resulted quite ineffective too. At that point we put an end to the game, feeling quite satisfied on how it had gone despite inexperience.
We had a great time with it!
Models of this very first trial are Reviresco 1:144 painted by myself, finished up with home made decals. More models from other brands (Minairons' own included), hopefully soon!

Thanks for that Luis looks like a lot of fun and some lovely models , I was wondering do the rules require a hex board ? Cheers Alex
Yes hexed tabletops are default in Bag the Hun - although these can be spared if needed.
We've played it on both hexed and unhexed surfaces, and honestly do recommend using those first indeed. Handling the aircraft and making them manoeuver becomes far easier when tabletop is hexed.
Thanks Lluis . I think I will have to get a copy
