Title: The Return of the Newsletter
Post by: Quebec on June 28, 2016, 12:06:33 PM
Hello. I'm sure I'm not the only one to miss the old Peter Pig Newsletter. It was a great way of knowing what Peter Pig was up to, and also to plan ahead, especially when news of new figures/rules were to be released. Any chance of getting the Newsletter back, Martin? Those of us who no longer live in the UK have really very little option of hearing of any news through the local grapevine.

Hi,

there are a couple of options here

The forum can send out newsletters to subscribers. Should Martin want to create one.

Alternatively he can drip new products onto this board. If you have notifications turned on you will get an email of each update.

or...  Martin can post it to Facebook, as he is doing now (but I'm not on Facebook, so don't have much access to that)

thanks
Simon

I think I would prefer to "drip feed" it here on the forum.  This is because I always find some other task that needs doing before I sit down and get  going (short attention span).  Ann example of this is the rules , in which Les does all the hard work whilst i throw ideas at the lions and testers.
One problem is that I try to avoid mentioning projects which might not get done.  Re sculpting older packs when moulds get worn is always a prioritising job.  thanks for the kind words about newsletters though!

I agree and always enjoyed the newsletters. I liked the little snippets about tactics or thinking on why the rules are as they are. I did wonder whether or not people could contribute a short piece for inclusion. Of course it would be possible for someone to do something like the newsletter independently which Martin might like to put up on the PP website or Facebook page. This might be problematic as of course Martin would need to approve any submissions which would time consuming in itself.

I have always struggled to maintain enthusiasm for blogging. My blog is still going at http://seanswargames.blogspot.co.uk/ (http://seanswargames.blogspot.co.uk/) . Its very Piggie orientated and has been going for 8 years but not much has occurred lately. I think this forum will be a a good alternative to the newsletter as Martin is a contributor here and no doubt will keep us informed about what is happening!
