I'll likely not complete this project by the current deadline as I have a lot to finish off for the WWW event next month, but thought I would share the head swapping bits.

The candidate figures, from the Vietnam and AK47 ranges:

A couple were a bit keen and had already lost their heads. The rest quickly followed (gripped by pliers and simply twisted off):

Next steps were to form an indent with a pointy file, enlarge it with a scalpel point and drill it out with a small bit in a pin vice. The figures from left to right illustrate these different stages:

The neck holes need a little tidying up with files. I cut the neck spigots short and file them into a spike, to allow some freedom of movement in positioning:

Better not, Martin. I rather prefer your work to my sad efforts!
I find that I can happily drill / file / cut bits off, but am rather less successful at adding bits on...

Thanks Julian. There are lots of crossover possibilities between those two ranges, as well as within the Vietnam range itself to repurpose figures.

I believe you were already in in the secret plans, Miles. Good to see that the post-briefing mind-wipe drugs are working though :D
