Here is my list, led by General Arsene Malaise
1. Militia - 9 s/a, 4 RPGS, = 73 pts
2. Militia - 8 s/a, 4 RPGS, = 68 pts
3. Militia - 5 technicals, 1 towed standard gun = 75 pts
4. Regular - 2 tanks (standard gun), 2 truck mounted RCL's = 158 pts
5. Regular - 6 s/a, 3 RPGS mounted in 3 trucks = 126 pts
Should be 500 pts on the nose. If anyone would care to check for me, I'd be eternally grateful.
Viva uMbongo!
Tots up alright for me!
No carrier allowance means my boys have to pay their own way. Their motto is get in quick before anyone else does will stand them well on Saturday

Unit 5 Regular Small arms x 6, RPGs x 4 Total points 108

Thank you and best wishes,
Martin Buck
Hi Julian,
Thank you, the carriers were meant to be softskin but I copied the wrong number, I've made some changes in red above to bring it in at 497 points.
I hope it's legal now,
Best wishes,
Martin Buck
Who's "Rebel" army would be best to use against my Colonial army burst having Religious leanings please ? As I want to get an army together for a friend of mine to play against me in the next couple of weeks ?
Miles
Good advice. Thank you.

And always remember that professional units are EXPENSIVE so tend not to be large. Ask Martin what happened when he got in an airstrike from me. Lost 4 out of 6 bases.
Derek
Jimmy's professional unit of technicals was a pretty fragile unit too, costing him a lot of victory points for not much return.
Derek is correct. Professionals are expensive.
My professional were fighting Derek in his dug in objective.
An 11 base unit. Small but still effective.
No worries though, Derek hit my militia unit in the open with an airstrike. He killed 4 out of 6 militia bases. Good shooting Derek.
martin :)
Agreed Julian. I rarely use them. I'm sure they do have their uses but they die as easily as any other troops when they are shot at.
Regarding assaults, I carried out one assault using Militia against Militia dug in on an objective. It didn't end well.
Julian's advice about about units supporting each other is very sound as I discovered on Saturday.
The biggest lesson learned for me was mobility. I will never be able to see a yellow taxi on TV again without a slight sense of foreboding! Julian's armoured taxi unit zipped around at will and I traded 1 Centurian for 1 Mercedes in the assault.

Definitely. Starting as a trio of vehicles on the list, then losing one to the reserve box, then that's only a couple of good shots away from a cheap 3D6+ VP there without breaking a sweat. Eeeeh.
Trial and error is a good teacher! Thanks Julian (& good to meet Saturday)
The more games you play the better your armies become ? You find out the weaknesses and good points of each force as you go along. But whatever you do it's always a compromise!
Whatever you put out there as a force there is always something that will kill it that costs a fraction of your force ? That is modern warfare.
