Title: Old ROF
Post by: martin goddard on September 23, 2021, 03:25:00 PM
Terry is encouraging me to get the project  done.
The pdf of old ROF should be ready for mid October. I need to locate all the files. ROF is about 3 computers old.

So far I have had 9 tower PCs. I don't use a laptop (used to have some;about 5) as I never go anywhere with a computer. Do you use a laptop? If so how do you cope with the smaller/flatter  keyboard?

The old ROF rules will not be changed but I will make the font bigger (ie 12 point) and tidy up the table presentation.
I am thinking of charging £6.
If i sell 100,000 copies(possibly) in a year then that would be great. Although 10 copies in a year (probably) would be fine too.

10/10 for that man!

I use 2 towers in my study(Wifes and mine). Laptop is in games room for internet use in the attic. Since I decided to never work again the laptop has beome surplus to requirements.

Bigger font ;)

I only have a laptop. Not had a desktop computer for 15+ years. I like that I can fold it up and put it in a drawer. Never had any issues. We get a new one every 3-4 years.

Just have and use them until they become too outdated or break.

Make sure that any necessary information is archived onto an external device.

I use laptop and smart phone. Compared to the phone 'keyboard' the laptop is pure bliss.

I use a Chromebook, I'm now on my second one because I dropped the first one and it cracked near the hinge on the lid. It was a few years old and I was considering an upgrade as my eyesight is more comfortable with my a larger screen.

You can always plug in a full sized keyboard and I can use a smart TV as a monitor if I want.

Very happy with the Chromebooks I have owned and the three windows laptops I have owned in the past, like anything else you do get what you pay for.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck

Bother, here is me thinking we are getting some update or mods for v.1 of ROF and it turns into a discussion about computing devices. :)

FWIW I use a Chromebook too, mostly.

ROF v1. PDF all sounds good to me.

Coincidently we are playing with these again next week.

Well, it will be nice to get my little boots out for the campaign element again. Will the little boots become available again if there is a demand for ROF I?

I have those empty boots too. Great casualty markers for multiperiod markers!

Of course cannot use them for Custer`s last stand as----------"they died with their boots on"

That made me smile more than it perhaps should have! I had those boots, but have no idea what happened to them 🤔

If my experience is anything to go by I think the boot  markers must have sold fairly well- I have bought them on at least three occasions as I kept losing them.
