If you like shaky video, dodgy camera angles and the occasional close up of the carpet, this video is for you.

It's a bit long, but I enjoyed playing out the game.

Great Sean.   Watched some will get around to rest later. And good timing as I was about to take a giant step from RoF 2002 to RoF 2016. Grids and all!

Addendum:-Tiny 6" grid map ordered too.

It works well and you can arrange figures in the figures to look nice, rather than just facing dead ahead.

I loved the original game, and if I ever want to could return to it. I don't think anyone sneaked into my house whilst I wasn't looking and stole them away.

I doubt I will though, because rthe new version works so well. I can never understand why a set of rules like For King and Parliament which also use a grid get so much public attention yet Regiment of Foote don't and they preceded FKaP by at least a couple of years or so.

I'm about to play the Naseby scenario which will be a Quick Strike report as detailed on the Little Wars TV channel so under 10 minutes. Should be much more digestable. I was keen to show off most of the mechanics with this one though.

On looking back at it, I get a few things wrong, but it certainly didn't spoil my enjoyment of the game!  :D

Blimey. 24 hours on from posting, 63 readers and just 2 comments. I was hoping the video would generate some discussion, although admittedly at 90 minutes it is quite an investment in time  ???

Sean,
I'm sorry I just haven't had time to view this video, I'll try and make time at the weekend when I hope to get in some painting time.

Best wishes,
Martin Buck

Very helpful video, I especially like the hands on run through of the pre battle system, very clear.

Best
Ben

And I have ordered an 8`x4` grid mat from tiny---I hope my mental capacity can handle this.

To Quote somebody famous----If it`s too hard I can`t do it!!!!!

True, its holiday fever everywhere!

I'm currently in the middle of my Naseby refight but had to pause to watch some US Open tennis with my daughter 😁

This is Iretons horse facing off against Maurice. The Royalist charge failed, and the Parliamentarians didn't chase them away, chiding to shoot them with pistols!

Very possibly Julian. Although this mat has the grids marked on, I've tended to use mats with just dots to mark out where the grid is.

It is surprisingly liberating when movement and shooting are determined by grid as opposed to measuring, especially for big battle games like this. Having said that, the RFCM Vietnam game is gridded and its one of my favourites.

I am watching it in bits - the camera movement tends to give me an odd feeling though so can only watch for small sections before stopping for a bit.

It's the basis of all good story telling Julian, which a wargame can be.

Mellis, I agree the camera is shaky. Unfortunately, my daughter broke my tripod which was great for stabilising the shots.

I'm ordering a new one, so hopefully I can improve.

I have started to watch it Sean, and it looks as though I will find it useful for my project, so thanks very much for posting.
