Cheers,Steve.
Lovely job mate.
Post it in the Group Build on the Forum Competition and you'll be eligible for a Piggie award!
Very nice Steve!
Simon
That is good Steve.
The first time I have seen any new characters painted
martin :)
I assume early photographs were used to get Wenlock likeness just right?
It was easy
The amount of aristocratic inbreeding means they look the same now as then
martin :)
Really nice command group.
Thanks all, really enjoying painting these models up, love the characters.
Here's the Duke of Somerset.

Very nice again, Steve!
Simon
That is good Steve!
Somerset is bit of a chap.
Standing there looking all shiny with his big flag.....
martin :)
would not want to come across that lot on the battlefield. They look really menacing with that hardware.
First actually unit finished last week, Lancastrian Household troops.

Great looking household unit.
Indeed - they look "well 'ard"!
Simon
Simon another thread thats got away from the management!!
Good chaps and nice bases too!
martin :)
In what way Les?
There may be a vacancy on the management coming up. I'd be happy to nominate you. I'm sure you'll get things in order 😊
I am also puzzled. The comments all seem to be related to the thread as far as I can tell.
Next up a heavy gun.

I like heavy guns.
Are you using bloody barons?
If so, you will find heavy guns a real pain to get reloaded (which is deliberate).
martin :)
Not to answer for Steve, but he is. He's one of my congregation 😊
That is a mighty big gun - just look out for when it rotates!
Simon
I do like to see artillery out on the WotR gaming table. It does seem that as the wars continued artillery became more common.
I think Bloody Barons handles it very well too. It's not a game winner, and can in fact be next to useless if your men aren't quick in reloading it, but it can be very useful if used at the right time.
A couple of guns do look very good on the table, as well as providing a useful distraction for the enemy to attack!
Simon
Agreed Simon.
They look great in a game.
A couple of times they have earned me a bunch of kills.
Often some of my own men get in the way or they get rolled up by an opponent.
As a note heavy guns do not move but can be placed a zone forward if that is your advanced zone chosen before deployment.
martin :)
We must be thankful that the use of artillery helped in locating the actual site of the battle of Bosworth
Was this due to the fall of shot and subsequent discovery to show patterns?
You are right Sean.
The best place to look is the "Time Team" with Tony Robinson episode.
It is on you tube.

Well worth the time to watch it I think.
martin :)
So we continue with the project, lots of part units done but only a few more finished pieces.
Here’s my light gun.

Very nicely done, Steve!
Simon
And jolly good it looks, too.
So here's the Lancastrian army so far, all three battles done so just the reserves to do now.....plus extras of course 😉🙂.

Simon
Lovely army Steve.
Steve is a valued member of The Devil Wears Primer podcast. He also paints at an inhuman rate. He may be the devil. Or he may have sold his soul to the devil.
Shh Sean you'll give away my secrets 😉🙂.
And get back to sorting out those Yorkist dogs ready for August 😎.
Nice work Steve.
Are you coming down for the Bosworth day on 15th August. You would be most welcome.
martin :)
I would love to Martin but I think SWMBO has other plans for me that weekend 🤷♂️but you never know 😉🙂.
OK Steve. Just send your beloved to the Bosworth games and then you can have a dig at here for leaving you behind!
martin :)

These look really great.
So I'm onto the Yorkist now and onto my Second battle having already done Edwards.
Here's Hastings and the first 2 units retainers.

Here is a good idea Steve.
Give them to Sean.
He will use them at Bosworth and take a photo of them in action.
Of course you might not het them back but all is fair in wargaming and war.
martin :)
If we lived locally to one another this would be a splendid idea. Unfortunately we are around 100 miles apart 😂
More great stuff, Steve E. I'd happily swipe them off the table at Newbury ;)
Simon
Here's the last 2 units for Hastings battle.

You are building a nice force, Steve.
Simon
I agree, and the little field gun is a terrific model.
Lovely little gun.
Thanks for all the kind words chaps 🙂.
Next up we have The Duke of Gloucester and a couple of his retinue units.

Nice work Steve, and great use of the Rob Roriston tribute figure!
This is really beautiful...
Superb...
Agreed; I particularly like the muted medieval colours.
A gold star in your wargame book Steve.
martin :)
Thanks all 😊
Steve is making the long drive up to my house for a gaming day on 14th. We'll be playing Bloody Barons and AK47.
I think I have hooked him into the RFCM fold!
🤷♂️😊👍
So you'll get to play with Steve's 'little gun' then Sean!!
I'm going to be bringing my Lancastrians out for this so Sean will have to take on my BIG gun 😉🙂😂
I feel a boom boom poem coming on.
The last of the Yorkist infantry units finished plus some dead commander tokens.

Simon
They look great - the flowers on the bases are a nice touch as well.
A few more add on bits done for this project.
