Title: 3D printed SCW tower.
Post by: Sean Clark on May 12, 2021, 11:07:04 AM
Recieved this tower for my SCW games today. Thrilled with it. It even has a bell! Only very fine striations, but that's OK as I intend to rough the walls up a bit with some modelling paste.

Purchased from ebay as seen in the second image. He has quite a range of models suitable for the SCW.

Nice kitchen, Sean. But you really should keep up with the washing up while you're on leave, or you will be back on the naughty step :)

I have my own special slot on the naughty step, next to my daughters. We get a lot of thinking done there 😂🤣

Snap, picked this up a while ago along with some of his buildings. Paints up nicely, I also roughed the walls up to add to the look.

Yep. I may pick up a couple more. I have more than enough really. But a few can repurposed to Mexico so they'll all get used.

Thank you! I went with Hamburger Hill.

I was rather disappointed in it. Not one Burger King or McDonald's. That's Hollywood for you.

There was a lot of mud, as I recall.

Looks great! Reminds me of the attack on the village in the film "Land and Freedom".  :)

I hadn't though about the Land and Freedom film, but you're right.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Is Land and Freedom on a streaming service? I'm struggling to find it.

I'm a couple of episodes into the ITV documentary. Really enjoying it.

I first saw Land & Freedom years ago when I first started my SCW collection. Very inspirational and lots of well researched detail.
For Whom The Bell Tolls (1943) is another favourite of mine (as is the book). I haven't seen it for a while but I'm pretty sure at least one of the Nationalist tanks is a FT17.
The tower does look nice. I do have a lot of buildings already though including a clock tower (all my battles are at 4 for some reason).

I've found a recent film from 2017 on Netflix called Uncertain Glory. It's in Spanish set during the war in 1937. Half way through and its very good.

With so few SCW films maybe  a few hats and guns we could cobble up a siege of Madrid film??
Modern phones can do video
Might be some funding available from government?

It would have to be dubbed into Spanish. My Spanish is limited to ordering 2 beers.

Thanks Julian - very helpful. I'd been meaning to get it on DVD (yes, I'm that old) for a while, but your alternative is more cost-effective :)
