For the UK it looks like games can take place in the house from May 17th
This looks like the rule of 6 from only two families.
This would mean that would be 2 player games .
More can play if in a shop? Maybe some social distancing and mask wearing will remain?
This is speculative for UK only, as things might/do change.

The shop thing will be interesting. Maybe it will be a trade-off between mask-less 1-to-1 gaming at home or bigger games with masks in a shop (or even a club?).

Yes I see it that way too, but it depends whether or not the shop in question can use Covid safe measures. Some shops may be too small to accommodate games. Hopefully on June 21st we will return to "normal".

Seems like you might as well hang on then and meanwhile enjoy your home comforts.
I think this is an area that people will have to decide for themselves rather than just do it because the Government says you can. In my own circumstances, I boardgame and figure game. The boardgaming puts you in much closer continual contact with the person opposite from you.
The question also arises as to whether we should wait until myself and household are double jabbed and the same for my gaming buddy, just in case either of us bring something back to our respective homes. At which time, you have probably done as much as you can other than the usual social distancing norms.
I can see my first game being figures at a 6' x 4' table, using own dice, masked, own drinks and windows open etc. I am in a sort of sun lounge, so ventilation is a little easier ...... though by May the heat could be tremendous! For me it will likely all depend on what the community infection figures are showing - they are pretty low here at the moment, but have plateaued.
My gaming buddy is fairly cautious, perhaps not as much as me, but if I gamed with a person who simply had no regard for the pandemic and threw all caution to the wind or refused to get jabbed etc, then my reluctance to game with that person would no doubt grow.
We probably all have our own positions on where the line of caution sits for entertaining at home for the 3 - 4 hour slot. Perhaps the viral prevalence in the community might be even lower by mid May, making such decisions a little easier.

My wargaming group were discussing this earlier today at our weekly "beer and chat in the garden" session. From May 17th indoors the rule of 6 or 2 households will apply, we usually number in the 4 to 6 range and will have the windows and door open, at least two of us will have the second jab by then, so we feel fairly safe. We may limit the numbers to 4 to allow better distancing and run 2 sessions a week as we did last year.
I expect plans to finalise during the next couple of weeks and we still need to decide what we will be playing.

Thanks for pointing this out - I'd not picked up that (in England) the current outdoor rules (up to 6 OR 2 households) should apply for indoors from 17th May, all being well. This is great news!

My club are planning to reopen on the 17th May. It's subject of course to things not worsening again. Social distancing etc will apply. I've organised a game of Hammerin Iron for my first one. Will make a nice change from Bayonet & Ideology. It will be good to get out the new PP toys I painted during lock down. Fingers crossed.
