Title: Bought a torch
Post by: martin goddard on February 25, 2021, 09:02:36 AM
Master figures are made using a green putty.
The vulcanising /moulding process dissolves  joints and reduces the master to  a bunch of bits.
I pick these bits out of the master mould but often miss bits as the green is difficult to see against the mould black.
This means that  often I need to go back and recast the masters having seen a missing bit.

To this end I went online to buy a torch.
At this  point i met the "militarisation" of torches.
It obviously sells more.

I now have a "military specification tactical light". It can be stored in a "tactical holster" with quick draw/release.
In addition the aluminium is "military grade".

I can now imagine the SAS creeping around the undergrowth, each with a nice bright torch to light their way.
Maybe the SAS men could make shadow images on trees and engage in "blinding" each other in a fun way.
Such a powerful tactical light would be great for pointing out enemy sentries to the others in the SAS unit.

My "manliness" has been greatly enhanced by having this  military light.
I might use it in conjunction with my watch, which is good to 50m underwater?

That is very funny, Martin.

But does your new tactical equipment actually work? Or is it a "stealthy" torch that maybe only projects infra-red light?

I guess your next castings will tell!

" The field-tested, James Bond-worthy UZI Defender Tactical Pen has seen it's fair share of duty by the special forces elite and secret service"

Mmm... it seems to make your hands grubby, and your writing pretty incomprehensible, but if it's good enough for James Bond...

You can imagine the conversation with M where Bond  is ordered  to abandon his favoured effeminate Italian pen

Quite - an outrage.

And it looks as though the model used bites his nails too - that would never do...

Sounds cool, but hearing the term 'tactical torch' - surely that's an oxymoron!? I can't get that picture of the kids attracting the attention of the T-Rex in Jurassic Park out of my head!

Talking of  bits of equipment.

I have just sent off for a new piercing saw ( a very fine hacksaw).  £80.
I might take it to wargames in order to impress passers by?
With a bit of paint it could alos serve as an oxbow lake or sci fi gantry?

Grasping for justifications to justify the money spent.

Wow - that must be quite some saw!

Maybe merits its own article in The Mill?

So this feed needs a new name ? "Tactical equipment" ?
Great what comes up with some internet searches ?
This has made me laugh this afternoon reading it.
