It is intended to add another 4 WOTR characters for first week in February.
The persons have been chosen, but their identities will be kept secret so as to make their release more interesting.
martin :-\
You are such a tease Martin.
Stewart
My guess is:-
1. Henry VII
2. John de Vere, Earl of Oxford
3. Lord Fauconberg
4. Sir William Stanley (recognised from his 2 faces).
John
This is nail-biting stuff...
Simon
Or it could be
John
Simon
Chris
Mike
No - we certainly don't want that!
We'd break the mould!!!!
john
Well Stewart, they would certainly be violent looking figures. Difficult to sculpt the sheer aggression and lordship of those infamous characters.
This having been said; any figures called "Simon" would cover 4 RFCM members.
Thus, 1 sculpt called "Simon" and it can be painted up in 4 different ways.
martin ???
You make a very good point there, Martin - Simons are something of a commodity here.
However, this may drive you down that "innovative sculpting" option #11, as we may need different hair styles? Or maybe just alternative heads (all baring our teeth in similarly aggressive styles, of course).
A helm with a wolf's head on it would resolve these issues, of course.
Simon
An excellent idea Stewart, perhaps with you dressed as a groom looking slightly disappointed as we all ignore your sage advice and once again launch a futile frontal assault.
Chris
This all sounds very positive and most intrigueing.
Just got my order of new WOR characters through. Very nice figures. Thanks Martin. Very quick delivery too. Well done chaps.

Did they arrive before you placed the order, though John?
Simon
Very nearly.
John
I was going to give each WOTR character a speech bubble (similar to the vikings) but thought it might not be popular.
The idea being that players culd write on the bubble nad chnage it by rubbing it off and starting again.
martin :)
Chris you don't need my advice,
Just follow Martins tactic
Fight to the last man then charge!
Stewart
Chris you know the way always attack whether you attacker or defender.

As I am coming back into this, would you mind sharing what you mean please. This ? (https://www.peterpig.co.uk/VIKING%2520shiledwall%2520marker.jpg)
Hello Si
Good use of a picture in this topic. Many will not remember the figures I was talking about. Thank you.
Obviously that figure is placed with a unit when it is in shield-wall. I believe that it is more visually pleasing than a counter with "shieldwall" written on it. Such figures were done for AK47 too.
Figures like this are of course a PP innovation. :)
My thoughts were that these specific figure idea (shield wall etc) could be extended to a blank speech bubble. Upon this bubble players could use a non permanent pen and write appropriate words about unit status e.g.low morale, excellent leader (or excellent ladder if you are a bad speller?).... The writing would need to be quite small though.
For AWI commanders I used small pearlised buttons built into the general's bases. On the button I wrote the general's command value and rubbed it off after each game. I thought it worked really well.
I think speech bubbles will catch on (eventually?) just as the symbol on the 6 face and grids have done (?)
martin :)
I like the idea
Stewart
For me a big "No". Why don't you do bubbles as a WOTR head pack ?
Hello Si
The head with bubble attached would be too great a strain on the attached to body.
martin
I think, some games systems suit the "bubbles" others with counters ?

How about if we hammered in a screw to keep it all together? ;D
Simon
Nah, screwing in a hammer makes more sense, particularly on an Edward I figure.
Good point, Andy.
Martin's former pupil, Miss Alice Malaprop, has also been in touch. She felt it might be factionally better to screw in a nail, but I feel that your approach to hammering Scots is more appropriate.
Simon
The only Scot I would really like to hammer is Mel Gibson for diservice to historical fact. Apart from anything else William Wallace was of Anglo-Saxon descent and would no more wear a kilt than I would a Mongol wrestling outfit - thanks for the heads up on that Karl.
Andy
Just drooling over WOR range 23 and thinking about my next purchases when I looked more closely at Richard III. Lo and behold there is a small extrusion in the armour at the rear of his shoulder to take his hump. Nice one Martin.
Andy
Poor little chap!
martin :)

Are you referring to Andy and his drooling, or Richard who's got the hump, Martin?
Simon
Behave Si, I'm 6'1"!
