Can you name the single PP figure you like best.
I ask this mostly to help my own ego of course.
Also to see what pose/periods customers like.It could be a normal chap , an officer or a dead......
Of course a very individualist pose might not translate to other periods.
e.g A Russian sniper might not be transferable to ancients.
:)But it might
martin :)
A real favourite, I don't think you have made it yet.
There are a number that I like.
The early version, of the Professional standing Lmg gunners, in the AK47 range. ;D
Out and out favourite? From the now defunct two part ECW cavalry with hat and pistol pack, the chap with his pistol across his chest. My favourite by a long way.
Of those currently in production, from musketeer standing pack, chap reaching to get something from his chest area. Really nice sculpt, but not really a pose you could have a lot of. I think I like his pose because it is unusual, throw the odd one into a firing line to give some individuality. Something that is fairly easy, and realistic to achieve due to the number of musketeer packs available. From cavalry, pistol, helmet the figure shooting sideways is a really nice figure but is quite hard to base in a regiment. His pose is a little harder to dilute due to just one pack of helmets with pistols.
The vast majority of the ECW range are in good, suitable poses. As I already alluded to there has to be a bulk of utilitarian poses because that's what most soldiers would have been doing, so in some ways it might be easier to say which figures don't work quite so well?
(In ECW range there's only one - the clubman with a stave held out in front)
SCW Assault Guard Commander holding smg in right hand and left hand waving.
Lots. If I had to pick one at present it would be from the SCW range. Pack 8 - International brigade in beret, especially the one with rifle angled downwards.
Nick
I generally prefer the more recent sculpts to older ones as they have more detail and dynamism.
I would find it hard to pick out a single figure, but the platoon and NCO figures in "come on chaps!" poses e.g. the VC, NVA, German Late War and German paras are particularly good, as are the German and British collectible figures in the same vein.
As per Radar's comments I also like the "unusual" ones. The recent stand-out would be the German para cocking his pistol.
Simon
This is like asking " which of your children do you like best" but as Simon mention best unusual pose, has to be German Paras commander checking his watch before firing his signal Pistol
Stewart
I couldn't possibly comment Stewart. I haven't met any of your children.
Seriously though I would be hard pushed to pick a single figure. I really like the WW2 collectibles, most of the late war figures for the Germans and British and the Bloody Barons range.
John
The Colonel (special figures), and British Para NCO in beret with smg and hand up.
Dave
Very difficult ask, but I'll stick my neck out and go with the charging Confederate officer from ACW pack 12. I particularly like his short jacket, with its braiding, and the field equipment he is carrying. All too often in the past officer figures have been depicted in parade dress rather than campaign dress.
Thank you for the feedback.
It really does help
martin :)
Can I change my vote... my order has just arrived so I would like to nominate the Professionals Pack 173 - the chap with his arm up 'waving'.
This is my favourite figure - the tubby general with the walking stick from the old SCW range
Used in both my SCW Republican army and my Chinese Civil War army

I can't remember the figure code but it's from ACW and the NCO pack. It's a NCO with his musket held low across his body in one hand whilst pointing with the other, arm outstretched. He has a moustache and is clearly shouting some obscenity at his men.
Very reminiscent of Sgt Mulhay in the film 'Glory' 👍
That'll be pack 63 in the ACW range.
Mine would be the WW2 Russian Scout Officer with moustache.
Mike
Pack 368. 14th Army. The kneeling Bren gunner. Reminds me of the kneeling airfix/matchbox plastic Australian toy soldier I loved the most as a kid in the dirt in the backyard.
I'm surprised that none of our younger audience (or it may just be a sign of the typical age of this Forum's membership...) pointed out the wounded MexRev figure "doing the Dab" as a favourite:

Not noticed that before, but now you've pointed it out it really is a good Dab isn't it! :)
Nick
I think Martin must be way cooler than he'd have us believe :D
Simon
Like to think I am groovy and down wit the kids???
martin :)
That's what spending so much time in the classroom does to you - no doubt an occupational hazard...
Simon
Yes, i have a Messerschmitt twitch.
martin :)

Good nco figure with his head up would be nice, although I will be using this figure as a nco anyway. :-)
Helen
I thought it was Elvis from Jailhouse Rock.
John
......and there's me thinking he'd just completed a 100 metre sprint.
When I first saw the figure I thought he was dabbing too, but now I can only see Elvis with his rifle as a microphone stand.
How about a little competition - people could "mod" this figure and Martin decides the winner?
Re-enactor at the Salute wondering if it's him who stinks, or the crowd?

He could be right on both counts...?
Is he paunchy enough to be a reenactor?
My favourite figure is possibly the one --I think from PP which is an ACW fig flashing his arse--I found that funny.
Pack 60 in the ACW range. Fine set of gentlemen and he is possibly one of Sherman's bummers showing his deep regard for the great state of Georgia. Rather peachy I think.
Theses are the kinds of figures that make the Peter Pig ranges an absolute must. So glad I bought the rude Renaissance Italians before they disappeared, especially the chap flicking his hand under his chin, a well known Italian insult.
Hi,
my favourite figure is the bomber throwing a "Lafitte" grenade, in pack 23 of the SCW range.
I fell in love with the Peter Pig SCW range in the late 90', and this figure is one of the few lasting from the former range that still sticks around ; I remember painting the first one for an article in the magazine Vae Victis n° 20, in 1998 :

I love the attitude and the uniform details, which are still at top level 22 years later, even when close to recent figures from the retooled range, such as here on the freshly done command base of my "Bandera Juana de Arco" (french volunteers fighting on the nationalist side):

I particularly like the officer with binos 16-96 from RCW furry hat and greatcoat gets my vote - 16-96 are arguably one of the most versatile figure sets for conversion for the RCW period...
