Morning Chaps, I spoke to Kate a couple of weeks ago.
She is keen to have us all back in November.
I said I would speak to her again end of September and see how the reopening went.
With The experts working of a second wave of coronavirus in Sep/Oct ,
I think the big question is who wants to be close to others playing games?

Stewart.
WWW 2021
Weekend of November 20th and 21st.
Could you at least talk to Kate in the near future please and see if you can put this in as a provisional date ?
Otherwise other weekends in and around that date could be taken up at work, and I won't be able to have a "long" weekend for the correct time.

Morning Miles
It's to early to plan anything With the resurgence of the virus and possible tougher lockdown lasting longer.

I agree that the plague does  not even seem to be on the down turn yet. :(
My personal thought is that we should wait 2 months with no action at all and then stick our heads above the parapet to see what incoming fire there is?

martin ???

Agree Martin, there are still too many unknowns.

I know the members of the group are desperate to have some gaming event to work their projects for exposure.

November does seem a good time, because by then most of us should have some sort of Vaccine in us.
So that's why I thought it might be a good time to start making enquiries.

Ok to enable those with jobs that need to book time off and to enable general planning I have booked weekend 19-21st Nov 2021 ,

Games planned so far
Saturday night Simon will run 3 or 4 PBI/Crete games to play test his ideas.
Sunday Les will run Pony Wars so all bring your Western diggers please.

Friday Night ,Saturday morning & afternoon are open for suggestions
Martin I am sure will want to run MexRev to show and play test the rules.

Obviously this is hoping there are no restrictions in place as we enter the winter period again but the hotel is looking forward to seeing us all again.

Don't forget Stewart that it is the 41st anniversary of The Jefferson Island disaster of 20th November 1980.
Incompetence followed by lucky escapes for all.

But that is a long way from Weymouth so should not put off more than two attendees?

Hope that helps.

martin :)

PS I would indeed like to play some mex rev.
Is Simon using PBI 20/20?
Title: Re: Stewart WWW

Martin,

I think Simon (and his willing Cretan victims) should indeed be using PBI 20/20. It would be rude not to?

This should add more fun and focus to the play-testing i.e. both of the new rules and the tweaks to them for the Crete scenarios.

Even if this event does indeed fall foul of the Covid curse, it feels good to be talking about it, and planning the games. So thanks for reinvigorating this discussion, Miles and Sewart!

Martin the ideas in addition to those already posted

Friday you and I run a couple of MexRev games
And if you would run the following
Saturday morning Bloody Barons
Saturday afternoon mex Rev
Saturday evening before Simons Crete PBI a quick briefing on PBI 2020

I plan to run Pirate games Saturday  morning and afternoon

Sunday if Les doesn't make it across the channel
You and I can run a few Western games

That leaves space Saturday morning and afternoon
For another game each period if there is any volunteers?

That sounds like an excellent plan Stewart.
Les is pretty reliable. He will be there!!

Well it gives a framework for people to work on, it wasn't about Les's reliability, it depends on any travel restrictions, if he has to stay in a hotel for a week before hand i think it would be to expensive.

I am intending to be over to play, but as Stewart says it will depend on the conditions at the time.
For Pony Wars I need to know what forces are available. Martin is going to contact Dave M to see what figures he still has and where we can use them.

If there is any interest Stewart I can bring the bits for TFL Sharpe Practise and of Chain of Command. I know its a RCFM rules weekend, but I was asked last WWW.
I will have a complete FfM setup if required.

Or a number of other RCFM games.

Thanks Les,
I'll ask attendees nearer the time for their list of  western figures but if any attendees want  something to do whist restrictionists are in force they can count them now and send the totals to me

Thank you Stewart for the beginnings of WWW 2021. Obviously the situation may change for better or worse, but I think most of us are getting use to this. Where we need to change then we will adapt.
I would like to Run or be involved in CWB, Hammerin Iron and PBI 20/20 Western Desert 1941, of course Crete and a few Western style games. I have at the time of writing a Confederate and Union(US army blue)force, mainly foot bases.

I put you down to run a CWB game Saturday afternoon.
Do you need anything for the game?

Well done Stewart for getting WWW onto the starting blocks. Plenty of enthusiasm and a wide range of games in prospect, just what we all need at this time.
Count me in. I will provide a game and set-up if needed but so far we have plenty of options.
Mike.

Only thing I would need is a box full of Confederates, but I know there are quite few people I can borrow that from.

Tell you what, you service and MOT my 2 cars in the next 3 months and I ll buy the troops and paint them ? I am a Dustman I don't get paid that much remember, still waiting for our wages to go up to Bournemouth and Poole drivers levels, as my wages are £2000 a year shy of there's, April apparently ? Plus I ve got my tanks and troops for DAK to do anyway, otherwise I'll need to borrow a DAK army too !!!
Plus I ve got an Indian army waiting in the wings for the Western games.

I have plenty of both sides Miles, which you are welcome to use.

A great offer John, that will allow Miles to paint Indians for the 'Pony Wars' game.

Must admit Indians and some Cowboys are very much on my to do list. I ve got an Indian box set. But also DAK are on the list too. I am train converting/detailing as Stewart wanted me to do 2 of his Engines at the moment, with a load of DAK tanks, as I hadn't done any tanks for a year. Then I will get back onto DAK troops. Then Indians.
Most of which I have already bought, obviously there are always top ups from mainly PP ranges are always needed.
Miles.

As Stewart mentioned the WWW, I thought I'd resurrect the thread. It is after all less than 6 months away and plans have to made.

I can bring Vietnam, ECW, Hammerin Iron or Vikings.

For the record I'll play anything, but would prefer to play RFCM games all weekend until we get kicked out on Sunday.

If all is well, I am happy to attend. I'll take my usual room please, with an 8am alarm call and a pressed copy of the Times outside my door.

Les,

I realise you've been out of the country for a while, but you may recall that The County Gazette has a rather select circulation, not for hoi polloi :)

However my ego can play other RFCM games too. :)

Most certainly some FfM.

In fact I'll play anything. I just want to play as many games as possible - 10 should be achievable?  😁

PBI2021? I haven't even played PBI2020 yet!
Re WWW happy to stick in my room from last time. I can do both sides of PBI, SB, BB, CWB and WA. Happy to try any game though. Will arrive with one or two expensive paint pallettes.
