Title: ACW Battle Day at Entoyment
Post by: colin31dip on June 28, 2020, 02:25:37 PM
So although we are not allowed to meet at present I want to start to get geared up for something which might give Pete at Entoyment a real banger of a re-open when gaming can begin.  ACW battle day.  Whose interested?  I am happy to organise a 15mm mega game using Peter Pig Civil War Battles.  If there is enough interest I am happy to organise the day and negotiate with Pete.  At present I am just looking for interest as we do not yet have details of dates etc.  However, I am looking for 4-8 people to run a four/five corps  game.  I can supply one Confederate Corps.  If you are interested then please contact me.  Regards Colin

Great idea Colin, I hope that you can get enough interest.  When is Entoyment opening up for gaming?

I'm interested, however my availability depends entirely on the date. Assuming house arrest ends, I'll be away all of September, part of October and all of November. If it's before mid August, I could do it.  I have a lot of figures, but they're based differently, so may not be suitable.
Regards,

Si

Hi Colin, I would definitely be up for that. Off the top of my head I think I can field about 17 infantry units, 3 cavalry and 8 guns for each side.
I am hoping to be away for the last week of August and a week in mid October,  but who knows if that will happen.

Good to see the cogs of war are  moving Colin.
I suspect the date will be the deciding factor. Moreso than the personal circumstances of player?

Are you considering Auguts, Septmeber, ctober or later??

Thanks for getting "out there" Colin. :)

I am in for that. It's my next project. Aiming at 10 Inf units, 2/3 Cav and around 6-8 guns.   Haven't even looked at the rules yet even though I have had them a while. Been to focused on AK.

Probably my favourite set of rules as the ACW is my favourite period. Being reading about it and gaming it for 35 years. There's always more to learn.

Episode 37 of my podcast talked about Lee at Gettysburg and asked the question was Gettysburg the price the South paid for having Lee in command.
