Assuming we are talking about non- skirmish games.
What unit are you next going to get started and finish (I say this to exclude a unit that has been ongoing for years or awaiting completion etc.). Give detail too please.
My own next unit will be German para MG34 tripod. Probably 4 guns (3x3)and a command base. All firing no moving , for clarity in the game. Big coloured strip across the command base (3x4). Might do some muzzle flash wires? Too delicate?
martin :)
I'm currently finishing off my Cretan houses. Once they're done, my next unit(s) will be lots of German paras - starting with a bunch of rifle-armed troops. So, infantry units will be the first done.
Simon
I'm currently working on 4 units simultaneously: an ACW confederate regiment, an ottoman kapikulu sipahi cavalry, an also ottoman gönüllü irregular infantry, a load of ottoman artillery and an ACW confederate battery. The most likely ones to be finished soon (Sunday hopefully) are the cavalrymen.
I can push the ante up to five.
1. I'm about to start my last battalion of Austrian infantry 1915 for SB
2. Nearly finished the first of two late war 25pdr field guns for PBI
3. Working on pirate dead. 12 nearly completed for one side, then do 12 for the other side.
4. Half way through the first unit of late Roman republican Romans for FOG. Just got the rest of the army to do.
5. On my second 5 bases of Italian front Germans including CC, 2 PC and 2 Panzerschrecks.
1 and 2 will be finished very shortly, so perhaps then I will be able to concentrate on the pirates and Germans.
John
Just finished Vietnam - at least in the sense of enough figures to try out a first game.
2 Lanchester armoured cars next, and separately the start of my International Brigade for SCW.
Nick
My next units will be
4 platoons of Fallschirmjager and 2 company command bases once the new range is complete.
I still have two 15mm Pirate ships to but rigging on, not good at modelling so it's not my favourite to tackle

John - I think Martin will have to send you to the bottom of the class for not reading the exam question. Fresh new units only, so you only score 1 out of 5 - shall we call that 20%?
Martin is of course cheating too - he plans to paint up units from figures that are not even on sale yet!
I'll keep watching for people trying to game the system here...
Simon
John, i am still impressed with the sheer size! :)
martin
My next unit will be technicals for AK47 Republic, one will be based on an old Matchbox truck.
Best wishes,
Martin Buck
My next unit will be the NZ figures for the Crete game some time next year. Have got to get them from my daughters sometime over the next few months.
... and 3 unimog trucks for a liability unit in AK47.
Nick
My next unit from scratch is likely to be 6mm Prussian infantry from Baccus, as the start of a Prussian army to give my Bavarian army a run for its money in 1866 using the Iron and Blood rules. As emigration is imminent I am likely to be playing most games solo on a 4' or 5' by 3' table.
Three possibilities for me:
1. A unit of RCW cavalry, actually 2 units but I'll probably do them separately.
2. Dismounted AWI dragoons
3. A platoon of 1940 Norwegians converted from Dutch.
As an aside, I'm coming to the conclusion that the PP Dutch are some of the most useful figures around. With head swaps they work for all sorts. The Italians would be good too but their packs limit their usefulness.
Good news Simon. A most erotic selection. :)
martin
My next big project will be a company of Peter Pig early war Fallschirmjager based for Flames of War, and one company of the same figures based on 30x30's for Crossfire and other similar games.
WW2 German Aufklarungs Platoon as just acquired another couple of Sdkfz 250. Probably could have built the unit without these as already had 10 but they were cheap and I want to use mostly the Neu version. Vehicles aren't PP but the majority if not all the dismounts will be along with a lot of the crews.
Nigel
Simon I can now claim a genuine new "unit". I am just starting on some explosions as markers for off table artillery for PBI and SB.
John
Excellent, John - I'm glad you're back on the path of righteousness.
I'd love to see some photos in due course, if this is feasible?
Simon
12 strong Napoleonic French dragoons. Old Falcon figures, really nice and shame they are gone.
Graham
Busy with some armoured cars. Are yours done yet Simon K?
Lovely models Martin great stuff.
I am having a "Writers Block" on figure painting at the moment. So a couple of weeks ago I converted an Atlas Editions "the General" to "119" which has a longer boiler and a different coal bunker.
This week I made a " Sahara Fort" that fits on 12 x 6 and the next coming week I might make an "Apache Fort" or more "Trappers Stockade" stylie!!! That also fits on a 12 x 6, having a good supply of "Stirring Sticks" and foam card.
I am very happy with the Arabic type fort, I think I got the proportions right ? I can even change the flag pole to suit the period or occupant? It could at a push be used for the pirates ? But it has a Square tower and not a round tower ? Which I think was more prevalent in that area ? ( someone will put me right with that fact ?) PITS,Square Bashing,PBI and AK47 and maybe a few others are covered ?( Mexican Rev ?)

It looks Very good Miles

Stewart, you are using an Israeli code there. Please decipher. :)
