Several people at the PITS day asked about the palm tress I have. I had meant to dry brush them and forgot but they look ok as supplied. The only thing I did was to scrape down each side of the tree as the mould alignment isn't very good. I bought off ebay:

Excellent value for £6.81 post free. They arrived pretty quickly as well considering they come from China - get them while supplies last? If you take a look at 'similar items' you'll find them in other scales and in other types of trees. Attached, at Martin's suggestion a photo to show them against some of my Dervishes so you can get an idea of size.

Ask not what RFCM can do for you.......

There are very similar deals on Amazon too. Having fallen foul of things shipped on Ebay from abroad recently where I had to pay VAT on the items and a fixed handling charge of £8 for the Post Office I am now wary of things that do not say they have been customs cleared at the point of sale. Many Ebay sellers don't do this, most Amazon sellers do.
Thanks Brian

I agree. I was happy with mine from Amazon:

Brian,
Nice picture - it was very effective draping the base cloth up as a backdrop!
Incidentally, the pictures render better here (and save on storage) if you host them somewhere else and just provide the link here.
I use imgur.com - very easy to do bulk uploads and then get a direct link to post here. You can also use imgur to edit the pictures. Various guidance on its use has already been posted on this very Forum.
Cropping could make it look like this:

Thanks Simon. Posting on eg arsebook seems to work ok by linking directly so although I was aware that my photos don't post the same as others, I thought it was me missing something in drafting the email. So you've saved me looking fruitlessly through there!
