I'm posting this on behalf of Ray "Pigsticker", whose PC is going in for treatment today:
"
Just to let you know that Lidl currently have a range of Airfix kits for £4.99. These are small 'starter-kits ' with glue, brushes and paints included:
1/400 Mary Rose,
HMS Victory (not sure of scale but small about 6" long)
1/72 Focke-Wulf
1/75 Mitsubishi Zero Zen
1/72 Spitfire
1/72 Hawk Trainer
As I already have C17/C18th models for gaming but not earlier ships, so I bought the Mary Rose. Would the victory be any use for P Pig pirate games?
"
I fancy a Mary Rose. It is 40 years newer than the rest of the ship range!
These have been on sale in Lidl for a while, Aldi also have some Airfix starter sets, again they have been there a while and I can't remember what they have.
Lidl also have the Cromwell tank kit if you know any 20mm wargamers.

I ve got 2 of the hams Victory kits.
One I am building to be a depot ship, in Hammering Iron. As part of the four ships as the Target.
I ve played with the other one to hopeful to make a Large Warship, make it into a 50/70 gun class sailing ship for the Pirate game.
It's roughly 1/600-700 scale.
It just fits into the 10cm slot.
The Mary Rose is about the same physical size as the Victory. Even though it is the 1/450 scale. It is a big ship.
I ve yet to build it.
