Title: Some guidance for new player
Post by: Old Git on September 24, 2019, 06:18:03 PM
I've run 2 games, trying to introduce RoF to club members, but have stumbled over some aspects of the rules.

On p79 we have " Each unit losf D6 (E=3.5). What is E=3.5 referring to?

On p79 does "lost" exclude units that have come back on to the table, after a period in Reinforcements?

On p79 more than 2 full bases of cav/foote. Does this mean 2 units of cav each with 1.5 bases count the square, or would it take, say, 3 such units?

How should Clubmen be represented?

P56, final bullet, sentence 1: should "while " read "whole " or is there a block of text missing?

P77 I got lost in second example - help! I thought Attacker has 1,3,5 & 7 i.e. odd turns, and the Defender  the even ones.

The E=3.5 just shows you the average result of the die roll, so on average you would expect to get 3.5 points per unit lost.

Lost refers to any unit removed during the game. Just keep a count of them as they happen.

Holding ground - you need more than 2 full bases to claim you hold the square. It doesn't matter how many units are involved just count the full bases.

P56, yes it should say whole not while.

Thanks again Nick for helping.

Does anybody use Clubmen in their games, and if they do, how do they represent them?

Cheers

Interesting one. Maybe downscaled Highlanders? Not thought of using them before, but having seen Radar's they would be a consideration.
