Title: Loving POE. First impressions of play.
Post by: Fat Wally on April 07, 2019, 11:35:58 PM
Hi all,

I have to say that my kid and I are loving the POE Sea Actions we've been playing recently.

We've started off with two ships v two ships and gradually introduced things.  In these early actions, no matter who played as the Pirates, they always seemed to win and win easily.

However, now we've moved on to using the various Aspects in the scenario generator, the gloves are off.   Feels like a totally different game.  The Defenders have rolled really well and moved the goalposts constantly.  The whole thing feels like a completely different beast.  Pirates have really been on the back foot with lots of upgraded merchants and warship escorts.

I will get round at some point to adding some AARs of our fun.  Just very busy at the moment.

Here's a taster....

One suggestion Martin.

Could we please have a video perhaps of 'Ships that have movement blocked by ships or scenery' p32.

We found this perhaps the most complicated bit of the rules.   My son in particular struggled.  OK he's 11 but he's very experienced at much more complicated rules and he still has problems with it.

Cheers,

Kev

Some of the bits in the sea games are just to simple, you endup looking for a more complicated option.
