As people may or may not know. It is 75th Anniversery of 1944. So Entoyment are doing at least 2 weekends this year to play games dicated in memoery of those that fought in that period.
DDay weekend has been confirmed for 7/8/9th of June.
Hopefully one for Arnhem will be the weekend 20th September.
Origanally i was hoping to put on a massive game, similular to the Arndennes game in 2018, but unfortunatley for now proved to be too much of a time consuming bemoth. I will put it on in 5 years time. So the research for the whole game is not wasted. Instead we can put on smaller games.
But the important one DDay.
Myself Colin and Big Mike are putting on Gold Beach for that weekend, those that were at Beachhead this year saw half the game, so far.
I have also suggested Villers Bocage which would on the Sunday of that weekend.
Anyone else want to put on a Small (any scale/system) game that weekend can contact Simon Edwards on Facebook messenger.
If not anyone interested in playing any of the games that weekend ?
I am looking for help on both the Saturday and Sunday that weekend. To help run the Gold Beach game of Saturday ? 6/8 people ???
Help running the Villers Bocage on Sunday and British Tanks and carriers and British/US trucks and 6pdrs please ???
Miles,
Thank you for the update. I'm afraid I can't make the weekend of 8th / 9th June (family birthday events), but I do hope that works well.
Meanwhile, I'll keep on painting my German force that will hopefully see the light of day around 20th September.
Hi Miles
Cannot make the June weekend as having a rather large operation two weeks before, so will not be up to pushing toy soldiers around for a few months. Arnhem bridge is taking shape quite nicely, so are the buildings, roads etc, will post some pictures soon, when it starts to come together - clock is ticking as I have to have it all painted by the end of May. If Arnhem not on, then Martin guess we will be playing a lot of bridge actions.
Wardy
Arnhem will be on. It is what people want to do over that weekend is the thing?
So its a case of what games to put on and who is doing what etc ?
So Wardy is putting on an Arhem Bridge game. I have some "town houses" that would be suitable towards that game, on top of other things you need for that.
I want to put on "Band of Brothers" Attack on Nuenen, i have the British Tanks and Soldiers, I have most of the German tanks, and Scenery. I will need US Paras (Easy Company FoW and Peter Pig ones) and German Pz Grenidiers.
I want to put on Battle for Son newly constructed Bailey Bridge, again I have the British and German Armour, and British Troops and Scenery. I will need US Paras and German troops.
Stewart was talking about the River Waal crossing and taking of the main Bridge of Nijmegen. Northern end of the Bridge mainly i think.
Of course we need some bodies to help play the games over that weekend too. Most of these games over both weekends need 4/6/8 ? people to run them.
More than likely my son Ben will host the Arnhem bridge game with my support, as following two bouts of surgery I might not fancy playing. He is really up for it.
Wardy
Put me down for the Arnhem bridge.
Thanks Martin
I think we could use your bridge in AWI, BB, western and possibly in pirate land raids. it wold be called the "the mystery bridge to nowhere" scenario. How abut it being a transit gate to another game table. Each vehicle or foot base that drives into it can appear on someone else's game table. A random roll. Then after ruining their game , back into the bridge and off we go,
Starbridge
Yes, that's it.
Since Martin will undoubtedly be charging on the bridge should it be known as "Toll-Bridge"?
My battle plan is revealed (reviled?). :)
So £5 per vehicle or a £50 day pass, my bridge could do quite well!

That rather assumes that any vehicles get as far as the bridge to actually cross it. Historical precedent does not augur well...
If we work on the old welsh model you pay one way ;D

DDay event at Entoyment. Wednesday evening 5th June through to Sunday 9th June.
Starting off with a Talk on the Wednesday by Toby McLeod and finishing with a Talk by Toby on the Sunday Evening, on DDay events. Then gaming across the next 4 days. Prefably games related to DDay on and off and around the Beaches. Air, Sea and Land Battles in various scales and gaming systems.
If and when i know more, i will try and keep people informed of further events.
Thanks Miles, planing a Pegasus Bridge game on the Saturday 8th June
Thank you Miles
Is there a website with updates of what is going on.

Thanks for clearing up that one, Martin :)
He is good. When there is a website link, I will put it on the PP website.
Got the website link. On website shows list now.
I think I should be able to make this one ... Ive got both British and US infantry companies, and a load of Germans (a few platoons in zeltbahn) avaialable to join in with any games going on..
Tim, it would be lovely to see you there.
The games are spread over weds, thurs, fri, sat sun. A lot of spread.
I am expecting a list to be created at some point for the website.
I am running a train wrecker game. 40 minutes length. Weds and sat. That would be nice "filler" for you?
But i suspect the "big" games will be on Saturday and Sunday.
Tim if you wanted we are playing Villers Bocage on the Sunday, so any British (espeacially carriers and trucks are welcomed) and Gremans are an helpful contributaion
Tim just take a few Tigers to help the odds for the Villers Bocage game to help the odds.
Friday & Saturday look do-able. Bringing some PBI stuff to join in is a definate, and maybe also wheeling out some 10mm to try a refreshed BKC game at some point as well with my mate Adam (who's now local to Entoyment) sounds like a plan.. once the PBI schedule is naied down I can work around that I think.
Tim. If you cannot get into a game we can arrange a PBi game. I mention this not to cut across any other games that are being put on, but in case you are not involved in anything but fancy a PBi game.
Both our games on the Saturday and Sunday, anyone who makes it there are welcomed to join in. Both games are PBI. Gold Beach does have house rules to cope with certain factors, but nothing that anyone who plays PP wouldn't understand. (How would Martin deal with this ? Comes into play !) Make it fast and simple.
Villers Bocage is going to be 3 4x4 tables strung out on one table. Edge of town, the long road and a big hill the other end. With fields and tracks and a few woods in between. Anyone who has British Half tracks, honey Stuart's, Bren gun carriers and troops are especially welcomed for the Sunday.
The British on the long road will be on reinforcement rolls to get started and then only have 1 AP of motivation after that as the Platoon commanders are on the Hill. Unless the PC can get back to their units before they are destroyed !!!
Should be a fun game if we can make it so.
Here is what is happening at the poole Entoymnet shop.
Anyone coming along????
I attach here a short list of what the Weymouth contingent is contributing toward the D day extravaganza.
Would you add it to the event list so that players can join in on our games?
Gold beach. large game 15mm. Mike , Colin and Miles

Sunday 9th June. played twice in the day.
Places for 2 extra players per game. Table size 12x4 feet (2 entoymnet tables)

martin
Thanks for this update and reminder, Martin.
I'd love to come, but it's Mrs K's birthday that weekend, so it would be something of a game too far... Particularly with Square Bashing on the following Saturday.
Incidentally, there is some (limited) information about the D-Day event on Entoyment's website (https://entoyment.co.uk/tabletop-wargaming-gaming-events?journal_blog_post_id=267).
Simon
The planned Villers Bocage game will be played, but not the DDay weekend. We will put that on one Saturday in the near future. Will need 5-6 players for it. Me and Big Mike will work on the rules. As the vehicles on the road between the town and the hill are all havin a brew... Might be able to put it on twice in a day. Swop people about. British in the morning, Germans in the afternoon.
Like I ve said before its 3 PBI games one one long table, 12 x 4 game. Objective is to survive. British to keep the road and town, so various points along the road, would have to stay in British hands. If not the Germans wins.
We can nearly do a one to one vehicle and troop ratio.
Miles
Sounds very interesting Miles.
Are the 3 sections of the table independent, or do all have to wait for the single player still struggling to do some task?
Should be good Miles.
Not too sure on that. I suppose technically they could be. But at he same time they are meant to represent one "long" road. Left to right the first one will be part of Villers Bocage town itself. Then the second one will feature the now famous road that Wittman done the damage on, with British units have a brew waiting for the "bigwigs" to decide what they are doing next. Then the third table will be on a slightly risen stage. Where the platoon/company and Regimental command units are meeting to see where to go next. As the view was excellent from there !
You should be able to travel from left to right and back, and that includes any firing from the edge of each table to the next.
The British would be "Defenders" and the Germans would be the "Attackers"
The scenary should be relatively simple. Be made of most templates that most of us have in our Wargaming boxes. The only specialist piece would be 2 inch thick polystyrene that would cover most of a 4 ft table, just to make it look higher than the rest of the scene. The two "road" tables will have farm tracks and woods and hedges across, etc to represent Bocage and Farmland associated with that part of Normandy .
That's about it.
Miles
Sounds good Miles. Do let the group know when you have it all organised.
Can you get some pictures too?
Any recommendations for a simple and concise (short)text about the action?
