Title: WSS 101
Post by: Colonel Kilgore on March 14, 2019, 09:58:26 PM
The latest issue of Wargames, Soldiers & Strategy is now out.

I have yet to read it all through, but there's a strong Viking theme throughout, with some good artwork and photos of models.

Peter Pig gets a nice mention for the "Comprehensive" range of Vikings, and there's an SCW range ad. There are also WW2 scenarios for both Normandy and Malaya, as well as a host of other reviews and articles. I'm looking forward to reading this one.

I thought the SCW advert would go nicely with the viking theme.

I sensed that there was a cunning plan. Maybe you know what their next theme is?

visually very nice, but a little disappointed on the large amount of space given to Beowulf (?) and also another big article on Maldon - this seems to crop up very regularly in wargame mags these days as the default viking battle. At  least there is a more unusual article on fighting a Norse v Irish battle.

Although maybe not when one considers the imminent release of Saga - age of magic

It does seem that Saga has taken a pragmatic business decision and decided to tap into the very large number of people who play fantasy skirmish games.
