Title: Beachhead
Post by: Leslie BT on February 18, 2018, 03:31:11 PM
Hope all those who attended had a great day out at the show.
And I hope that it was felt that the show was a success.
How did the CWB games go.
Did the western rules get some good reviews and a few pointers for the campaign.

Julie will edit the photos tomorrow. I did a lot of photos. The show was great in terms of venue , number of games and number of traders. well done Peter and Entoyment.

15mm is getting less popular at shows,  sadly. This might just be a passing trend. We are re-thinking our show attendance for 2019. It may be wiser to cut out the shows and concentrate on our internet sales which are still heathy.

I ran the western game 5 times, 3 with Rob, once with Martin and once with Nigel.
We only had two non- piggy's play , Dave and Ben. A few looked in but wanted to look round the show and wouldn't commit to a turn or two

Interesting, does this mean that the gaming scales at shows is changing, or is it that the number of figures and the type of games is changing?

The new rule books being published, particularly by Osprey and Caliver, are more skirmish type games, often aimed at 28mm figures.

Also a number of gamers are coming perhaps to historical wargaming from fantasy gaming. Most of the fantasy games now seem to be 'Skirmish' type games. You do not have lots of units of 16 or 24 figures.

What game were Dave and Ben playing?

The days of "28mm luvin, 3x3 shakin, skirmish fizzing, collectible card knowin , ever non-historical, quick banging, faction makin, ever poppin, big awesome" are here.
However ,the 15mm gamers are still out there and having great battles
