Title: Roundhouses.
Post by: Duncan on July 13, 2016, 12:03:36 PM
Hello,

I thought I would try and post these here. I am not sure if you would be interested, but will give it a go.

I have made some roundhouses out of Greenstuff. There seemed to be a lack of models available for these in 15mm and the ones that are there are not very varied and seemed a bit bland to me.

These were made with a plastic core from a small sellotape reel with greenstuff over the top. I have set cut matches into the sides to add some  structure and then mounted it on a card base so I could model the ditch around the outside. The roof is also made from plastic, a plastic tube lid similar to pringles cut to size and again greenstuffed over before being attached to the bottom.

I have  added a link to the photos on my facebook page as only one seems to want to  load on here?

Sorry for the nuisance.

welcome Duncan!

West wind are making some Pictish brochs as part of their latest kickstarter

But they aren't that inspiring anyway, and are a dreaded kickstarter. I like yours better  :)

Thank you.

It does seem that so many of them (Of the few there are.) Are simply cylinders with pointy tops. I guess it makes them easier to cast multiple ones?
