Title: Britannia
Post by: martin goddard on January 25, 2018, 02:33:16 PM
New Series.
Good fun and fine acting.  Not very historical, but I am enjoying it thus far. Anyone else enjoying it?  Is the story gripping!   or griping?  No need to denounce it for historical inaccuracies, it is obviously all over the place.

Enjoyed the first episode. I think they have gone for contemporary language to make it feel more accessible. And everyone speaking English helps!

Personally , i found it guilty of the worst crime... in that it was quite boring. This is coming from someone who loves GoT where the glacial speed of story can rival paint drying

Watched the whole series; once you get past the historical inaccuracies, the geographical/geological inaccuracies, the blatant cinematic plagiarism of Vikings and GoT, it's entertaining enough. What's not to like when the young girl protagonist screams "well I'll find the f****** Romans myself then"?

Don't have Sky so can't comment, but in this day and age, with the amount of historical research that has been going on over the last forty years I really cannot get my head round the whole historical innaccuracies thing.

I think it is comic strip inspired.  I might also opine that it is as historical as many 28mm skirmish games?

Probably more historical than the Mongols v. Swiss pike game I witnessed at York a few years back.
