The Belgian looks a bit difficult to paint, but the outcome would look fine I believe? :-\

Presumably a special mix of standard tartan paints should do the job?

It is one of those scheme that looks more difficult than it is. I found some photos of that scheme as well.Looks like there is a replica or real one in Belgium museum painted in that particular scheme.
