QUIZ
« on: May 23, 2020, 12:28:25 PM »
We have not had a quiz for over a week now (the horror).
I can "bash out" them out easily but would someone else like to do a quiz?

I will of course  put one out today.

martin :)

Martin

I'm at work so don't have time to answer all the questions...but the Square Bashing question doesn't seem to offer the right answer. I'm assuming this is a trick question 😂

Quiz solutions
Stewart has a score of 9 (Gold)
Simon has a score of 8 (silver)
Les has a score of 7 (bronze)

These men have earned  300, 200 and 100 m swimming and life saving certificates.
Congratulations ;D

martin

EXPLANATIONS
1.What is the standard frontage for WRG  DBM bases in 15mm  = 20mm, 30mm, 40mm
Phil barker came up with a 4cm frontage. Many other sets followed this convention.

2. What size were the original TSS scenery tiles= 18 inches, 15 inches or 24 inches
The tiles started as 24x 24 inches. TSS was the second tile company after the one the Baileys now own. The huge displays up the wall of TSS tiles was prominent at UK shows in the 90,s

3. How big was Charles Grant's table for his WW2 book "battle"= 6x4, 6x8, 9x5
Charles used a ping pong table. Which is 9x5.

4. What stated height size are "Willie" figures= 15mm, 20mm, 30mm
Willie goes back to the 60s. Tall, slender and expensive. Rough by modern standards but good proportions.

5. What size are the majority of new figures from "Gringo 40" = 28mm, 40mm, 42mm
Oddly they have converged /converted to the popular 28mm size.

6. What size were the Pax Britania ACW figures from the 1970s= 10mm,20mm,30mm
Steve Hezelwood designed 20mm ACW. Minimal detail, but superb animation and proportion. Now owned by a painting company.

7. What was the standard size wargame table for WRG 4,5,6th edition ancient rules. =6x4, 4x4, 6x3
This where the 6x4 "standard" started. The inspiration for all wargame tables from 1973 to 2005.

8.Which of these figure sizes did MiniFigs not make = 5mm, 10mm,30mm
Minifigs did  a range of 5mm figures and tanks in 1974. At the same time they released a 30mm napoleonic range. All gone  now.

9. How many infantry on a Minifigs 15mm strip (usually)= 3,5,8
Usually 5. All gone now.

10. What size is the standard PBI table= 4x4,6x4,5x3
4x4. Ground breaking

11. What size is a standard Square Bashing table= 4x3,6x4,5x3
4x3. Groundbreaking

12. What size is a standard AK47 reloaded table= 4x4,6x3, 6x4

Thanks for taking part. :)
