Looking at these lists, I ve had an idea ? For a future games day ?
“Operation Sea-lion” ? It can be 1940/41 AxisForces trying to invade British Isles. So we could do it 2020/21.
Just an idea to a themed games day.
I would love to make up some British Armoured trucks, with pillboxes on the back etc. People can still play multi nation forces, French troops that escaped France, or Dutch the same thing but maybe add some British trucks etc, or an platoon of Home Guard ?
But again ideas for a future games day.
It would also balance out the Fall of the Reich(1945), Invasion of Britain (1940/1941?)  next year Into the next ?
The one great thing about the early war years, the Tank has yet to find its place on the battlefield and is truly a support weapon to the Infantry.
As it is in PBI anyway

Who has hacked into Miles' account and is writing such arrant nonsense?  ;D

If you do Belgians, we could do Eben Emael with the same German paras that I'll be painting up for the Crete day that Miles and I've been discussing (a dinner topic for the Weymouth Weekend, I hope).

Sounds good Simon...though by all accounts you could game Eben Emael with one Belgian on a bicycle 😁

Simon The invasion of Britain could be another excuse to use your Paras ? Before Crete ?
But also an excuse to do a Dads Army type of Defence game and some of the anti invasion inventions that were around at the time ?
Might even give someone a chance to do a “Dr Who Dalek Army “ just for a laugh ? Stewart ?

I am going to use a German or  French army. Once it is a bit clearer how the balance is i will choose one.
Looks like  (very rough guess).

1 British
1 Dutch
2 French
1 German

Anyone able to attach their names to those or change the list.
I suggest you copy the list. Then paste it into the next post with your amended detail on it.

e.g

Here is the list
1 British
1 Dutch
2 French
1 German

Then Jenny might decide to build a British force.
So Jenny would  paste

1 British =Jenny
1 Dutch
2 French
1 German

Each person who is able to take part would re-post the list. Sound OK. I used Jenny's details as she has already committed.

If that looks sensible I will build a German force.  The MG34 is very useful. Maybe backed up by a pair of PzII and/or PAK 37s.   These little guns and vehicles are very cheap in points.

Martin

I hope to be able to attend this even and will look to bring EW Germans:

1 British
1 Dutch
2 French
1 German = Chris

If it looks like we have too many axis armies I can switch to British as I have yet to purchase an army. I just need to make my mind up by the end of November to give me time to paint the figures.

Thanks Chris.
I think we will be short of Germans.
I am looking through the army book for the army with the most LMGS, flamethrowers and big guns/heavy armour.  :)
Think it might be the German reconnaissance company Page 59. I might then add an engineer company for the flamethrowers. Then there is a choice between flak 88mm guns (gun 10)  and Sturmpanzer I has gun 8 but poor armour. I could have 1 or 2 units each of 2 x 88mm OR  2 units of 4 Sturmpanzer 1 each, giving me 8 of them!  Along with a whole mass of MG34 and flame throwers this should be good?
Is there a better army though?
