Yes Stewart, thank you. What did you think I was going to turn up with E100 ?
If you look in earlier posts I ve already discussed this ? I am probably going to have Morris A/C and 15 cwt trucks ? Maybe Matilda 2 or something else ?
Please Please get it All out of your heads about this Power that a flamer base does ? Or doesnít have ?
The only reason I went for them, after doing the factory game I needed a way to Bash my way into a German Strong hold. If and when they could get into a position close enough to assault and then withstand the German FIRE POWER that ALL those MG42 Have.... I might have a small chance of actually beating them at Close Assault. But Nobody goes on about All that Fire Power Germans have got dice after dice after dice.
LW German Squads are so automatic Gun Fire filled itís the only way to try and beat them as a2 Square stand off like in an ACW game wonít cut it. With the British you have to go toe to toe and hope you get the right dice rolls. Especially when some players field 2 German LMG in the first square you will come to, putting 9/10 dice at you even in opportunity fire, or 8/9 dice in Return fire (or a combination of both ) (( This includes a rifle base or SMG base with 2 LMG bases)) against my 12 IF I get the full 3 points to fire with....
So yes I am looking forward to more Civil times in 1940.
Even so the Germans still get extra dice rolls for their LMGs. Unless I field MMG but then I am trying to win by power as some people will try and say.
Rant over.
Yes I am looking forward to putting out a 1940 British army in France, with Period weapons pointed up, even if one or two bases may appear to have LW weapons on them.
A note in History, the Matilda 2 was actually conceived before the Matilda 1 ?

We need a volunteer (?) to run the day, in terms of matching players and creating a victory system etc.
Any offers?

I'm more than happy to do this.

How do people feel about submitting their list to this group for all to see? Just so it's an open event.

Also let's make the emphasis be fun for everyone. Gaming is a social contract where we agree to make it a fun endeavour for your opponent as much as yourself.

Stiĺ try to win though! It might be fun to run the day as an Allies v Axis day with the total score deciding whether the Germans are stopped before Dunkirk.

Any thoughts?

P.S.

This isn't a dig at ANYONE! As far as I am aware we are all friends and in it for the social side as well as the game.

I think my words have fallen on deaf ears (again).

I will play against a normal German company no problem. Dressed as British no problem.
I  am unable  to  play against a flamer gamer. No specialist engineer units, no specialist flamer tanks, no specialist close support howitzers.

Here is the solution.
Point up your force following the normal German company.
Pay the German points.

Just use British bases instead.
Then you can have the amazing battle winning MG 34 against which all opponents have no chance at all.

Let me make it a bit clearer.

1. Look at the German list for a  normal infantry company.
2. Build a force from that list. Including the assets and available German vehicles.
3. Replace the German bases with British models.

This would help us use normal companies.

If my words here fail (I think they will), I suggest that anyone using flamer gamer forces allows the other player to include up to 9 flammer foot bases (3 per platoon)  in his force. At only 7 points per base they are very very very very very very very good value. Just 1 more point than a rifle base. Besides they are in no way equivalent to the extra 2D6 the Germans get with their MG34s.

Thus I would expect to be using 3 flammer bases per platoon, on the basis that the MG34 having 2 extra D6 should justify a whole bunch of flamers.  Those 2 extra D6 the German gets is only partially combatted by my flammer having +3D6 in an assault and 7D6 with a 5,6 target save when shooting.

Alternatively, just use whatever you like and pretend it is a typical 1940 infantry company.

Just do whatever you like. I have mostly lost interest, as I won't be playing flammer gamers anyway.

Sean

That would be great , thanks.
I for one like the idea of an "axis v allies" team score too.

Thatís a good idea Sean.
Still not sure what I am going to put my list together. Just ordered some A/c and tanks.
I was hoping to paint some of my Confederates first for Western game.
As I want to get a force and some scenery done, especially if we are going to be doing some form of Crete next year, will we need some Rocky pieces done.
