BB70
« on: November 07, 2019, 05:10:43 PM »
BB70 went out yesterday.
I feel it is nearly there.
My personal opinion is that it is good.

I thought I might detail here some of the changes from edition 1.
This is in order for players to see how things develop.
BB has not changed as much as some other previous RFCM sets, but the changes are still significant.

1. Zones changed from 18x9 inches to 12x9 inches.
2.Zones changed from 12 to 16.
3. Calculations changed from totally zone frontage to "per unit" D6 numbers.
4.Scenario generator changed from pre deployment to post deployment.
5. Army builder went from "any" to specific skeleton.
6. Generals now add to fight D6.
7.Game length was  moving an object (cart, windmill etc.) around the peripheral zones (10 of) to 33 point D6 countdown.
8. Generals attributes was much higher (32?)  now 11+7+7=25
9. Scenery shifting was 4,5,6.  Now 3,4,5,6.
10. Scenery compulsories were different.
11.Attacker did deploy first, now second.
12. 4 units zone capacity. Now 3 units.
13.  and other bits too.

So thanks to play testers thus far. I can see a bright light in the tunnel ahead.
The Title will be "Wars of the Roses", subtitle is "The Bloody Barons".
 :)

Having been slaughtered in a game against Martin tonight, I can safely say Bloody Barons is a winner with me.

Thematic.

Quick.

Bloody.

And you get to charge your cavalry across the table to be slaughtered  on the bills and arrows of outrageous fortune.

Destined to be another Peter Pig classic.

Played 2 games at Ben&Dave's of BB.
It was in an outbuilding of their ice cream factory.
In game 1 Dave's cavalry turned up and did well on their second appearance.
In game 2 Dave's cavalry did not even turn up!
A mass of guns did  a good job of reducing a ward on a  hill.
In both games hand gunners were pretty poor.
The first game was a big win for the ?  The second game was almost a draw.
Maybe Ben can fill in some details.

Marvellous day out

A true civil war with father against son? '

Forsooth, 'tis a terrible thing, for nought is gained but blood and misery!'

I had two close victories and should have lost the first but rolled amazingly in the last turn and decimated two of my dads groups and killed the king while the in the second pointless frontal assault just got us the win. Both games were great and I really like bloody barons.
