They look to me (the photo on the website is a little faded) like one advancing with a Tommy gun; one firing an automatic pistol with an SMG slung, and one with a commando dagger a little similar to the Airfix commando pose.

Am I close, Martin?

That is many years ago S,  Simon you are correct. They wear the "secret mission" type caps rather than the D day berets. The mistake many sculptors make is having the head gear with a little "point" at each end. In reality this would be  pressed down so as not to create a sharp outline. The cap is made from a  long  tube sewn closed at both ends. Pull it over your head and  tuck the overhang Down one side. Then press down. Still have mine but never really used it.

This leads me on to the latest Israel hat tops that make them look a bit Arabic thus breaking up the smooth helmet outline  and harder to identify. Jolly clever.

So, which one of the poses did you model for, Martin?

I could see you as the "come and try me if you think you're hard enough" chap armed with the commando knife.

Yes that is me sneaking up. If they look around I become a tree, even on a beach. The trick is to stab them in the right of their neck with your Fairburn Sykes knife. Meanwhile the other commandos with the ladder, grappling hook  and canoe will be coming up to support you. Shame is, they have no weapons. Easy to forget?

You forgot the ones crawling and throwing the rope and grappling hook.

No don't take me too seriously. I was not a commando. I was infantry. Surely the most elite part of any army????
