Petard: Gamette #2
« on: March 15, 2019, 11:58:18 AM »
I noticed (over on TMP) you gave a taster about the issue 2 mini-game 'Petard', Martin.

Any advance pics of the figures/ more details?

Thanks in anticipation

Thanks fo the question.
The pack of figures should be out mid-week 20th March. I am waiting for the special figure to go onto the pack. there will always be special figure so the pack has a unique selling point.

The Petard rules for edition 2 are about ready for consumption. I am keeping them until end of March/start April when Edition 2 of the 15 Mill comes out. I think it is more exciting to see them when the magazine comes out. I don't want to spoil the expectation.
The gamette pack is now out and on the PP website.  It contains enough for both players.
This time there is a play sheet too.

From my own perspective the game really is good fun.
The format is a stretch or path of 24 spaces/squares. Each player has 5 figures.
These figures move along the path and engage hazards. Hazards can be avoiding by scoring enough to "dash" through them without stopping.
At the far end players have to blow the gates down.
The figures then need to get all the way back to the start again too. Thus a 48 square path in total.

Hazards include piquets (Stonewall Jackson?),exposed bridge, abatis, sally port, artillery and random fire from the defenders. hazards such as the bridge are more dangerous than others such as own piquets.

Victory points do not require all to get back alive. the rewards are for how far the party progressed, blowing the gates, surviving etc...
i will get a battle report done for the 15 Mill too.
Hope this arouses interest.
The special figure in the gamette pack is an officer brandishing a pistol, whilst charging forward. See it in the web picture.

Ordered mine today. That's three orders from PP for collection at Salute. Who says I prevaricate?

We played it today (x2) and it is nearly "cooked" right and ready to consume.

Just be careful how much you cook your petard before consumption...
