Martin,

Are you bringing any PP stuff (e.g. rulebooks for Pirates and/or PBI) in case passing punters have an impulsive urge to buy, to the Bovington Day?

Even if these are "under the counter" (rather than a normal trade stand) you might get a few sales?

Hello Simon

There will be a full PP stand (12 feet).
We have not traded at this show for about 5 years.
Looking forward to the show. Play some games and sell some metal. Marvellous.
The game will be "pirtae land raids".

Great news all round - looking forward to seeing you all, and the "full 4 yards" of PP stand!

The Bovington show (tank museum) was held on Saturday 13th July. Really nice show. Well organised. The Bovy staff were excellent in terms of help and friendliness.
The museum has a top quality shop of books, models and bits.
The games were good. Of particular note would be the massive D day gold beach game, dinosaur game and desert game WW2. Plenty of traders and a good/busy bring and buy.
The museum was jolly stuffy today though. The sun beating down mercilessly, which is very strange for the UK. Short trouser weather.
I had a good look at the tanks too. That Pz II Luchs looks really good. That Russian welding looks really bad.
Met a lot of good gamers, including some from Tanzania!
The show does have space to grow and I hope it will.
No real criticisms.
In addition a £400+ cheque to ex-service men's charity.
All in one day, splendid.
Hope someone has done some photos?

Agree with everything Martin has said + the museum staff were very helpful in making the event happen.
The levellers presented a cheque for £440 to the Royal British Legion also Lawrence and the bring&buy team made another £77 for the Legion, so thank you to Lawrence, Darryl and Graham for running a well organised Bring & Buy.

Very enjoyable day, not just because we won “Best of Show” that put the icing on the cake for myself and Colin, and Big Mike once he finds out. Most of a year in the planning and making. Have met a lot of people through the  process too.
But yes a good show, glad it is one day, made it a lot better, wouldn’t fancy going back tomorrow !!!
The money going to good causes and club as well.
Thank you once again Stewart for taking on and organising the show.
Thank you Colin and Mike for the teamwork to get the game together and thank you Simon for helping out this Saturday much appreciated.
Roll on next July.

I too went along to the show, first time in a number of years. Stewart had put in a lot of effort in a relatively short time to ensure a continuation of a show at the Tank museum, his efforts resulted in a good show - hopefully Stewart will remain inspired enough to keep up the show so that it remains on the calendar (doubly so now that Fisticuffs is on hold). Spent some money on Ospreys and figures and only a short journey home. If it runs next year I promise to get my arse in gear and put on a game.

A great day out, in a perfect venue. With thanks to Miles and Colin for letting me play on their mega-game: very impressive work on both scenery and figures (in particular Miles' tank park). I think we finished half of the third turn, after an initial chat, the time to set up, chats with the general public, lunch, chat and a little dice rolling.

I thought all the games looked good - it seems as though everyone had made an effort to put on a nice spectacle for the general public.

It was great to see Martin running the "Pirate creche" for 3 very well-behaved and enthusiastic youngsters (including the Tanzanian-via-Boston contingent).

Nigel looked busy on the Piggy stand all day, so I hope that business was good.

Nice to see three RFCM games (Vietnam, Pirates and PBI-variant) on show - all looked great.

I'll post some pictures of the latter two in due course, unless Martin or Miles beat me to it.

Really well done Stewart, on a day that just seemed to run like clockwork.

Simon

Thanks Simon it was all down to well behaved traders & gamers. Everyone expected booked in quickly no fuss, only one gamer didn’t turn up and one display turned up I wasn’t expecting because they gave their booking form to Entoyment.
The museum staff were very helpful to all that asked so no body got upset.
Bring & buy team we’re very efficient as always so that ran smoothly.
All in all a very good  team effort.
