Hopefully Stewart you get the chance to do it all again next year ?
As we all said this time, and myself especially if you need help. Delegate/ask and a lot of us will come running.
Stewart you got a Big Thumbs up from a lot of people, only a few "twits" on the BGS Facebook said otherwise, but that's their own lookout. Tough.
The sooner you can get a date for next year, people can plan their holidays around it (Big Mike) and Chris can plan his shifts and even Sean and Les too ?

Good to hear that the day went well.
Have you managed to get the date for next year arranged?
The administrators may even get the show into the calendar if you give them more notice, this year was not a long enough leadin for an entry to be made.

Yep - a good 18 months' notice would help - we're behind on the Admin housework :)

Just had a quick look at the calendar to see what events are coming up, with Martin and Stewart arranging the various gaming events.

There is nothing listed at all.  All that's there is birthdays!!!

A grandstand view of Peter Pig’s Pieces of Eight land game, featuring a very natty pop-up poster:

And a close-up of the new Pirate buildings and layout, prior to the start of combat:

The main event of “The Real Navarone” game – the big guns, being assaulted by French commandos (I'm afraid I didn't catch the name of the group who put this nice game on):

The local town:

And a view from the Axis side of things:

Miles’ & Colin’s tank park, featuring “funnies” in various configurations (with / without bridges, fascines; Sherman DD with flotation skirts up and down, etc.). Miles hasn’t quite got enough, so will be doing some Bobbin carpet-laying tanks next:

The calm before the storm: landing craft edge towards the peaceful beach:

The British start to disembark:

A view from the German lines:

Colin delivers a stonk:

A Spitfire's eye view of proceedings:

A close-up of the action on the edge of the town:

The modest Allied progress made at the end of Turn 3 (getting the "funnies" off in the right order was important to tackle the various obstacles, but those tanks just kept setting off mines…):

Oh, and I nearly forgot - the happy, and well-deserved, winners of best-in-show: Miles and Colin (who swears everyone was just jealous of his exotically-patterned silk shirt...), flanking our jovial event organiser Stewart.

Thanks for all the pics - excellent.....

The “Real Navarone” game was by the Deal club, I believe.

Ah - "The Real Deal", perhaps?  ;)
